Chelsea agree to sign Jadon Sancho from Man Utd on loan with obligation to buy


Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is close coming together Chelsea are on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy, according to multiple reports.

The Old Trafford star, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, is closing in on a move to Stamford Bridge in a late deal. The 24-year-old fell out of favor at United last year after a public row with manager Erik ten Hag.

He is set to spend the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Stamford Bridge, with the obligation to Chelsea to make his move permanent next summer for between £20m and £25m.

Sancho would become the latest talent to be added to Chelsea’s growing roster of players, with the likes of Pedro Neto, Joao Felix and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall moving to west London this summer.

His opening season under new boss Enzo Maresca is expected to lead to a long-term deal at Stamford Bridge, ending his three-year spell on the books in Manchester.

The winger made 24 appearances during the 2023/24 campaign, making just three Premier League appearances for United. However, he made a brief cameo appearance The United The Community Shield defeated Manchester City on 10 August after recovering with Ten Hag.

Chelsea face Crystal Palace on Sunday, for which Sancho will be ineligible, and travel to Bournemouth after the international break where he could make his debut.
