Puma athlete will compete in his fifth London marathon when the injury made him out of the Paris Olympics
Charlotte Purdue will make its marathon this Sunday (April 27), in the London Marathon, noting its return to the race after the ankle injury.
Last year, 33-year-old was scary, leaving 2023 career. It was in Berlin, where he healed the disgusting fastest marathon, but he not only called his Olympic qualification.
That performance pushed Puma Athlete by combining the list of all the UK times with sharing the sign with Calli Hauger-Trackery.
However, Hauger-Trackery went faster at 2:21. By 24, generally occupying the third place in Purdue in the ranking list.
Now it has been completely restored, Murses returned to roads at 71:71 victory at half a marathon of Nagoya and is now ready to solve the Fifth London marathon. His best show was 2021 when he placed the 10th place. Although he appeared in last year’s publication, it was a fate. He hoped to compete, but British athletics advised to sit down on the Olympic preparations.
Beyond its own career, Purdue also forms the next generation of athletes. Next to his colleague Adam Clin, he founded Purdue Performance, where he now balances his elite race coaching and mentoring.

Charlotte Purdue (Puma Running)
How are you? Do you feel before London’s marathon?
I feel good. I had a good training block, I Australia has come out and I returned two weeks ago so it went well. I I’m just looking forward to competing. I haven’t run a marathon for a while, so it’s It will be good.
You feel this marathon is this marathon compared to others.
Yeah I do. Usually I go into it During the mind and a certain time objective because I have tried to drive a qualification or Such a thing whereas this year I just want to compete. Obviously I want to run A good time, but my main priority is as high as possible ends and just run well in the race.
I don’t pursue some time while I’ve gone there and wanted to Run 2:23 and really time to be pushed, I’m driven at all this year. Obviously you want to run fast but I just want to Race Who is there and try and finish as high as possible?
What has been like the last year for you?
I wanted to run in London last year But I didn’t let me run because British athletics wanted me to save me The Olympic Games, and then I broke my ankle before the Olympics, so it was quite terrible. It was a little terrible year because I was not allowed to compete At the beginning of the year and then back from injury Gave me a little time. It was a long process that was returning from it Injury
It took longer than I thought it was really annoying. So to actually be go back and have a healthy and good block, I’m just happy to be a beginner and back there. It is almost a full-time period again there.
Have you enjoyed the London marathon in 2024?
I didn’t really enjoy yourself last year. I was not Love it. This time last year I just ran a half marathon pb in Japan was both the best condition and I was willing to compete. I wanted to make a full marathon but British athletics said I can only pace. At least I had to do that.
How does it feel like a race and win the half-marathon in Nagoya?
That race was a low key race. I usually go through Nagoya to PACE Marathon, but I asked my coach’s Nick if I could do half a marathon just because I wanted to do race before London. In fact, there was no other tribes I could do, Because I was in Australia and it’s hard to find tribes there.
I didn’t want to travel back and forth I found this race in Japan and was fun just just for gInstall race shoes in the Race environment and go through the process. T.o The victory was a bonus, it wasn’t really fast time or anything But it was solo, so I was happy how it went.
How did he behave in connection with the injury had a mental effect?
Frankly, it was quite bad. T.o This injury was the Olympic Games probably the worst in the history of time, but things happen for a reason so I know there is a reason I didn’t want to run there.
I’m just happy to run back now, and fully healthy, without injuries. I feel like this Race this weekend will be my start to return again and clearly build some positive momentum. I just want to compete this year, so I think it will be I hope that the beginning of a good year.
What is the future like Purdue Performance?
We actually work on a really interesting new Project, we build a coach software. It will go out soon So keep your eyes peeled for it.
I love coach athletes as well as focusing on my own run I have a few Runners Run this weekend that I’m training myself, so it’s cool because I’m talking to them the race. Running every day passes exactly through the same process we are going through.
It is obvious that we run faster pace, but it’s still the same workout, and yet the same problems they face. It My mind leads my own mileage.
How do you find tHe balances coaching training and is a professional athlete.
I’m not sincerely opposed because I feel like I’ll just get Bored if I was thinking only about my own mileage, so it’s something else a day. It’s a job but it doesn’t feel job because IIt is easy for me to talk to it exactly as it is natural.
How have things been when you were signed with Puma?
That’s really cool. I love new shoes, The Fast-r Nitro Elite 3:I trained in them in January and sincerely I think they are the best shoes that I’ve ever been worn up so I hope they hold on Sunday because I wear them for a marathon. I’m excited to wear them in the race Finally after workout in them.
What do you make a huge difference between shoes over the years?
I used to say that my counterpart Adam, the other day I did the first London marathon 2016 I didn’t wear carbon boots. It’s crazy for me that some People never feel the marathon run without carbon Shoes. Feeling was ten times worse than it is now because They help your feet so much. Every one year shoes become better and betterA number
