Tiger Woods, stopping an unforeseen development, will not be in this year’s Ryder Cup.
His son, however, tried to be in the host course.
Playing this week’s Junior PGA championships at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in Indiana, Charlie Woods Linked for the second entry in the last Friday’s round – and the first two conclusions would provide a place in the US team for Junior Ryder Cup, which would be played on September 23 and 24 at Nassau Country Club, and September 25 at Bethpage Black, where the main Ryder Cup will be played. Woods had opened Junior PGA with one under 70 on Tuesday, then made a 66s action on Wednesday and Thursday.
On Friday, however, the 16-year-old was unlocked by three Bogeys and a double noise on his way to a three-sided 74 and a tie for the ninth. Woods ended with a total 276, which was 10 strokes after winner Lunden Estherline and four blows after runners Giuseppe Puebla and Tyler Mawhinney. (Puebla won Junior Ryder Cup.)
Before Friday, Woods was encouraged. During the two second and third rounds, he scored nine birds.
“My round was pretty up and down, and it gave me a heart attack there,” Woods told you Lafayette Courier and Journal. “But nine birds are very good. A pair of three strokes, I made some mistakes today, but generally round quite strong. The very good position will go tomorrow.”
New Woods could still make Junior Ryder Cup team Through a selection of the designated captainthough it seems impossible. As for his 15-year-old father of great winner, he would be connected to be the captain of the US Ryder Cup team but rejected the post Last year, mentioning his work with PGA Tour.
“With my new responsibilities for the tournaments of the tournament and the time involved, I felt like I would not be able to engage the time for Team USA and the players required as captain,” Woods said in a statement released in July by the US PGA. “That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t want to catch a team in the future. If and when I think it’s the right time, I’ll put my hat on the ring for this committee to decide.”
On the side of the girls of the event Junior PGA, Asterisk Talley ended first, and Zoe Cusack was the contestant.
