Charlie Dobeon Targets Another Season to Remember

When he is going to start his 2025 campaign in Rome, Britain looks back at the season that he was distinguished

Charlie Dobson hopes that the new season is right, where the last is left. The 25-year-old child would open its 2025 campaign in the Rome League on June 6, starting with one of Britain’s fastest 400 msaric athletes after the year.

The season of his 2024 was nothing out of any transformer. Dobson started with a silver medal at 400 m in the European Championships, and he closed the year in Brussels, a race, which he did not even expect him to just predict only days. That unexpected victory closed with points full of seasons, which included 44.23 new best best, forcing him to all the second fastest Briton Matthew Hudson-Smith.

As DEBZON SAY. It was at a distance that was not part of his program from the beginning. Previously known for 200 m, including the fourth place in the 2022 European Championship. Dobson moved after a high intensity training after injuries.

In addition to the victory of his diagonian league and the best of individuals, Puma Athlete also helped the team’s GB lawsuit of the bronze men 4×400 m away from the Paris Olympics. 2: 55.83 The time of the team not only provided the end of the chairs, but also broke a European record stood since 1996.

But the road was not smooth at the moment. A number of injuries in several years, including 2021.

Now fully fits and focused, Dobson has already secured the security of Britain 4×400 m in the world 4×400 m. The next purpose. To particularly qualify and make a 400 m finalize in Tokyo, and once there, he knows that anything is possible.

We have caught Dobson before the opening of his season to learn more about his passions to go and go out of the path, from engineering and golf to his ambitions.

What is your biggest achievement?

So far, my biggest achievement should be 2024 as a whole. I started with European championships, winning a silver medal, then moving to submit a team GB at the Olympics. We came home with a bronze medal in the relay and in the process we set a European / British record stood for 20 strange years. We finished the winner of the diagande League in Brussels.

If I had to mention one thing, the diamond league final would probably be quite remarkable. Three or four days before the final we didn’t even know that we were going to be in the race, and we suddenly had to order some tickets for trains in Brussels.

The structure of the diaga league is that you have to earn a certain number of points to complete the first eight. After the last event I sorted tenths and I had to wait for two people to go out, which was a little tense. So we ended up on Monday to find out on Wednesday and the race was Friday.

What is the biggest challenge you have to overcome?

Until now, it has definitely injured. It is certainly not easy to get to where I am now. The last three or four years I really fought with small injuries such as simple tobacco injuries that come in the wrong time until stressed fractures. I think engaged in a stressful fracture was the largest I had to overcome because I had to take a whole year.

What is the best about being a professional athlete?

The best thing is to be able to do every day. Saying: You never work for a day in your life if you do what you love is what I do now.

What are your goals for the rest of the year?

This year is the main ambition that complete the final final in Tokyo in the World Cup and when you can happen to the final thing, so I’m going to medal.

I also want to start the season with more and more racing experience. It is a massive thing for me to learn the event (400 m) and learn how to deal with the races in different ways, as well as the differences within the race.

When you stand on the start line, what is going through your mind?

When I walk to blocks, it’s created and waiting for the appetizer to put everyone, really doesn’t go through my head. At that moment, I made all the mental preparation in the heat and call room. At that moment, I have been purely focused on the first few steps, and after that he receives every step.

Each step is broken into the passages, and I approach each passage as it arrives. Segments are every 50m or so, and I think of which point I have to push and what point I have to save than to accelerate.

How did the transition to 200 m to 400 m?

Growing up, I don’t think I wanted to be 400 m. I think 400m is an event that finds you rather than the other way around the environment. I was always a piece of 200m and at the same time did a few 100.

The transition from 200 m to 400 meters took place, as we gave the decent of 200 m, I ran well and I came to the fourth in the European Championships. But it wasn’t just stable. I was wounded for 200 m the necessary training type, and my body simply could not resist it. Thus, we decided to move to 400 m course in 2023.

It’s a more difficult training for 400m, but it’s a little less explosive and slightly less intense, so it allowed me to have a complete winter season and eventually compete for the entire season.

Who are you looking to grow up?

My biggest inspiration increased, probably Greg Raderford. I know she’s a long jumper but she’s ginger and I’m gingerbread too if you can’t say.

What are your interests than running?

Meanwhile, I was at the university, I was studying aeration, which is slightly different for the average subject study. I chose it, because my grandmother was an engineer, it increased that I had always been interested in that type of field. He always took me to the airport to watch the air shows, and it killed my love for aviation because I wanted to know more about how the planes worked.

When I leave the path, I also like to go and play a few stages of golf, it gives a break from my mind to constantly thinking about the athletes.

I took a golf in 2020 during the epidemic, Yun’s friends will decrease on the ground and play a few rounds there. I usually try to play at least every week to improve. My best score is 81 in more than 72 golf playing fields, so 9 is equal.

Do you find any similarities between golf and athletic playgrounds?

I love it very much, because it’s a completely different atmosphere for athletics, where everything is fast at pace, and there is a lot. When you are on a golf course, it’s quite quiet until you hit water or something, then it’s quite stressful, so I try to do it.

What shoes will you train and compete this year?

For normal learning days, I will train for Puma Deviate Nitro 3s and speed sessions or race, I will use Puma Evospeed Forte Nitro Elites. I think they are an incredible mixture of comfort, and among them carbon plate is really strong, and it helps longer than 400 m long.
