Arsenal FC journalist Charles Watts has discussed the perspective of an exciting young left, Myles Lewis-Skelly, potentially moving to the midfield.
The 18-year-old has been excellent for the Gunners this season, becoming an increasingly important part of Mikel Arteta’s first team.
This has brought to Lewis-Skelle also won his first call from EnglandWith Watts saying that the young “exceptional” deserves it clearly.
Arsenal fans will undoubtedly be intrigued to see Lewis-Skelly continued with the three lions, but there have also been some debate about their best long-term position.
“This is arsenal for you!” -What ex-Gunner do you think your former club has a major problem?
Discussing this with Captured As part of his last column exclusively for The Daily Briefing, Watts said he is not sure that Lewis-Skelle will end up moving towards the midfield, as he is so appropriate to the inverted role he plays under Mikel Arta at this time.
Arsenal’s expert discusses the best position of Myles Lewis-Skelly

“It’s great to see Myles Lewis-Skelly called the England service. It’s absolutely deserved,” Watts said.
“Ideally, I think Thomas Tuchel would probably have preferred to let him have at least one camp with children under 21, but with other options on the left he was not available, he had to really include it now.
“As I said, it’s a well -deserved call. Lewis-Skelly has been exceptional Since the creation of the first team in the Arsenal this season.
“Nothing hurts him and I’m sure he will not, even with the additional scrutiny of being called by England.
“The way he has brought senior football this season, both the Premier League and the Champions League has been so impressive, especially when you consider that he is playing in a position that is still relatively new to him.
“He had not been known as a central midfielder for long time, a box of the box player who could appear with important moments at any end of the pitch.
“So the fact that he has become one of the best left -handed people in a short space of time at the age of only 18 shows the smart one who is a footballer.
“There is an opinion that, at some point, will pass above the pitch and will return to a midfield role, but I do not see that this happens, I have to say, anyway in the short term.
“I think it adapts so well to this left-wing role and this allows it to operate in the central areas anyway. So I do not see the point of moving it back to the midfield right now.”
