I have recently taken the opportunity to play a whole new course near me in Colonial Williamsburg. My fast trip around Shoes in Golden Horseshoe It reminded me of the key elements that, honestly, make short (or par-3) courses so attractive.
Honestly, I am fully prepared to declare that it is a much better golf experience than playing the “true” thing.
That is why I think short courses are the best way to play golf.
Is faster

No one has time for a 5-hour round. No, seriously. There are few things I hate more in life than a slow slow golf round. In many ways, the short course addresses this problem.
Shorter distances, less likely to end up in the forest looking for a ball and each hole is a par-3 fast speed.
You can easily get around a short course with 9 holes within an hour … Just enough time to steal while my baby goes down for a nap.
Is still challenging (in several ways)

The next thing I want for the experience of the short course is the opportunity to work on different shots. In shoes, for example, The shortest holes play about 40 yards, while the longest is nearly 140.
It is not very often that I end up with a 40 yard stroke in a green or I have to fit my shocked wedge into a narrow place among the Greenside bunkers.
Is family friendly

In direct contrast to my last point, the short course experience is also what is best suited for the new or casual player.
Golf becomes heckva much easier when you don’t have to worry about hitting the driver from Tee. Forty yard are manageable for someone who has hardly affected a club before.
The reality is, my wife (or any non-player number) would quickly make a principle in each hole in a short course than in a normal course.
And the sooner a young man marks their first money, the more likely they will continue to return. The same goes for Birdie.
Do you agree?
The short course is the most refreshing way, nice to play golf. At least, that’s what I think.
