As Eddie Hearn, a box box promoter, points out, the winner of the Catterall against Barboza Jr. battle is likely to be increased to the full WBO champion of 140 pounds when Teofimo Lopez is evacuated or stripped of his title for failure to against to fight them. Teo does not want to fight any of these guys, especially Barboza jr. (31-0, 11 COs). Something about that man makes Lopez have nothing to do with the fight against him.
Catterall’s style
Use his forged Shakur -styleCatterall (30-1, 13 costs) has compiled four consecutive wins since his controversial 12-round decision loss to former undisputed champion Josh Taylor on February 26, 2022. Barboza jr. Has too much talent for that fighting style, and it can be a bad night for Catterall if he can’t come up with the offensive firepower to deal with his skills. Barboza jr. May have most talent out of all the fighters in the 140 pound division, and he is not someone who will work against Shakur.
