Bruce Carrington wants to ‘act’ for his fans’ tonight in his 12-round main support fight against Mateus Heita in the Madison Square Garden Theater in New York. Carrington (15-0, 9 foods) and Heita (14-0, 9 COs) fight for the WBC Tus-Time Featherweight title.
Top Rank’s ESPN Farewell
Carrington, 28, was selected by Top Rank to be part of the company’s final battle with ESPN tonight. They have been at the broadcast giant for eight years since 2017.
‘The pressure is on. I base in it, because my goal is not just to win. It’s to perform, ‘said Bruce Carrington Fight Hub TVabout the pressure he has on him tonight, and in his hometown in New York is fighting against Mateus Heita. “I have to keep acting and make a point where I deserve to be, where I am.”
If Carrington wanted to impress his fans, he should have leaned on top rankings to find him a better opponent, such as Sulaiman Segawa or Otabek Kholmatov. Bruce has to run it back with Segawa to clean up the controversy surrounding the results of their fight last year.
“I have to give my people something to talk about after leaving the arena. I want to give them the feeling that they don’t just go to a boxing game. They go to an opportunity, “Carrington says of his fighting in front of his hometown crowd tonight at the MSG Theater.
Soft opponent -strategy
Top Rank chose the lower selected Heita to give Carrington a better shot to win. They, of course, saw what vulnerable Bruce looked like in his fight against Sulaiman Segawa in August. They do not want to place Carrington with extra risky fights until he gets his title shot.
In Bruce’s last two battles since the Segawa disaster, he has been linked to the Scrubs, Enrique Vivas and Dana Coolwell. Tonight’s battle with Heita is Carrington’s third straight mark. The fans are well aware that it is another showcase battle for Carrington, which is why there is so little interest in this battle. It was completely ignored by people. If Carrington had a sense of insight, he would have to find out why fans overlooked his fight and focused more on the main event.
Carrington’s championship search
“I could say (Rafael) Espinoza (would be the hardest at 126), but there are certain things he does that would make the fight easy for me. I could say Nick Ball, but there are certain things he does that would make the fight easy for me, ‘says Carrington.
Bruce deceives himself if he believes WBO featherweight champion Rafael Espinoza would be an ‘easy struggle’ for him. Carrington’s promoters on the top rank don’t even think about targeting Espinoza for him to win a belt. They want WBA champion Nick Ball or WBC Champ, Stephen Fulton. Bruce would have at least a chance to hit them, but very little hope to defeat Espinoza.
