Carlo Pernat believes Acosta will ‘put on a real fight’ in 2026.

Carlo Pernat discussed KTM after the season’s Grand Prix. GPONAcosta explained that he was ‘keeping the KTM afloat’.

Pernat believes KTM is supplying Acosta with all the new parts they are producing, but the likes of Maverick Vinales, Brad Binder and Enea Bastianini are being ignored.

Although Acosta will try to stay with Ducati for the 2027 season, Pernat says the Spaniard will have a ‘real battle’ with Marc Marquez in 2026.

Pernat said, “The amazing Pedro Acosta, as they say, there are only three true talents: Marc Marquez, Fabio Quatararo and Acosta. Pedro is keeping KTM afloat, and KTM is doing something good and bad.”

“Well, because with Acosta, you are fighting for something important. He won the Sprint race, it has not happened in ages. I believe that everything is being done for Pedro, every new thing, even just the script, is given to Acosta. Not the others, not Viñales, Binder or Bastini.

“There may be financial issues, but it’s about choices. The thing is, Acosta has decided to leave and will be a Ducati man next season. But this year he will have a real fight and KTM will try to give him something more.”
