Canelo stay #1 in ring rankings after Crawford Loss – Wrong

Canelo Alvarez was moved to the number 1 place in the Ring’s Super Middleweight (168) ranking after his loss of Terence Crawford on September 13. As such, Crawford (42-0, 31 CO’s) is now the ring champion.

How low should Canelo go?

It would make more sense that Canelo (63-3-2, 39 COs) has been move far down Further in the ratings due to how weak he looked unanimously decided against Bud at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in his 12-round decision.

The Ring Super-Middle Weight Rankings

C: Terence Crawford (Champion)
1: Canelo Alvarez
2: Osleys Iglesias
3: Milli Christian
4: Lester Martinez
5: Diego Pacheco
6: Armando Resendiz
7: Caleb plant
8: Hamzah Sheeraz
9: Bruno Surace
10: William Scull

Nation Vegas’ verdict: drop him

Losing the battle should not result in Canelo, 35, being placed at number 1. It seems a strange step, more about popularity than an accurate measure of where the Mexican star deserves to be. The truth is that Alvarez did not fight well, nor Crawford. No fighter showed that they were on high -level fighters in that so -called ‘Fight of the Century’.

In other sports, if you lose, you are not placed on number 1. So, if we want boxing to be seen as a legal sport rather than a popularity competition, Canelo should be placed lower in the suit.

I ranked Canelo on #8 on the Super Middleweight ranking because many younger fighters on top -10 rankings would have beat him worse than Crawford did that evening.

Iglesias deserves the #1 place

C: Terence Crawford (Champion)
1: Osleys Iglesias
2: Christian Milli
3: Lester Martinez
4: Diego Pacheco
5: Armando Resendiz
6: Hamzah Sheeraz
7: William Scull
8: Canelo Alvarez
9: Caleb plant
10: Bruno Surace

Scull showed more than Crawford

The way Canelo looked against Crawford, he undone Iglesias, Mbilli, Lester, Pacheco, Resendiz, Sheeraz and Scull. I know he beat Scull with a unanimous 12 round decision last May, but the Cuban showed talent in the fight showing me that he was more than able to win a rematch.

When Scull stood on his ground and fought against Canelo, he looked more impressive than Crawford with his power, hand speed and combination punch. Scull is a diamond in the rough.
