Terence Crawford’s assistant coach Bernie Davis says he believes Bud’s Canelo Alvarez will knock in a rematch. He sees no point in a second fight because he is considering Crawford (42-0, 31 COs) won almost every round and makes it look like “Difficult” In their September 13 legacy fight in Las Vegas.
The run -oriented style criticism
Davis does not say how Crawford would achieve a knockout because he did not show the kind of power or aggressiveness needed to achieve it. He seems to have been there to win a decision by using his movement. He fights the opposite of how Turki Alalshikh asked in the fight. He wanted to break broken legs, blood and faces.
The judges did not see this and recorded it 115-113, 115-113 and 116-112 for Crawford. They saw the battle so close to each other, and one that Canelo (63-3-3, 39 COs) could have won if he had not disappeared. Crawford frightened, moved through much of the fight and did not let his hands go.
Even in rounds nine to twelve, he only hit a short intervals and would take off as if he were on a launch office on his way to the outer edges of the solar system.
Crawford made the fight difficult to look at, and fans on social media complained about his running -oriented style he chose to use.
With all the money, he was paid by Turki Alalshikh, millions of fans who looked at Netflix, and the crowd of 70,482 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Crawford could have fought more aggressively. There was so much more he could do and not. He has failed all the fans by calling in a Tom and Jerry fight and not showing the fire he needs.
Davis predicts downtime in rematch
“I think we can have him the second time. I think it would be worse because I feel a sharp bud Crawford, I don’t think Canelo can hurt him, “coach Bernie ‘The Boxer’ said Millcity Boxing about what would play in a rematch.
I don’t see a scenario where Crawford could knock Canelo in a rematch. He is too defensive and unwilling to stand still long enough to try out. Crawford has a rabbit style of fighting, which is similar to Shakur Stevenson, who admires him and probably formed his fighting style after him.

A way to reduce lump
Interestingly, Bernie denied that Canelo had taken a lot of punishment during his career. He points out that he has only fought twice a year, and he feels that he still has all his skills at 35. Davis mentions that people who say that Alvarez lost something from his game takes away the credit Crawford should get for his victory. “It’s a way to reduce Bud,” Bernie says. Canelo did not look like the same fighter as he once had since his collision against Dmitri Biblical on May 7, 2022.
It is unclear whether Davis has followed Canelo’s career carefully, as he does not look like the fighter who fought Gennadiy Golovkin in 2017 and 2018. I believe he is fighting at a lower level than he did earlier in his career. And yes, Canelo took a lot of punishment.
Davis is completely gone with his belief that Alvarez did not take punishment. His fighting against Golovkin, Dmitri Bivol, Edgar Berlanga, Miguel Cotto and Callum Smith all had big blows.
In contrast, Crawford did not make such punishment because he fought less Punchers at 135, 140, 147 and briefly, and he was a keeper.
