Edgar Berlanga placed the next six battles he wanted after his March 8 match, and rumors against Journeyman Gabriel Rosado (26-17-1, 15 food) in Puerto Rico. Rosado has not won a fight since 2021.
Six battles, zero chances?
He is likely to lose all the six battles Berlanga wants. This would make it difficult for him to fight the remaining five without a massive setback from the fighters who prefer to fight against him.
Edgar included Jermall Charlo and the recently Sleep Jaime Munguia on the list. Even these guys are likely to be far too talented against the much bigger Berlanga.
Interestingly, Berlanga (22-1, 17 COs) included a rematch with Canelo Alvarez as one of the six fights he wants, which looks very unlikely without beating someone on a light heavyweight or crossweight.
Canelo will never fight against Berlanga without doing anything outside his abilities, such as beating David Benavidez, David Morrell, Artur Betterbiev or Dmitri Bivolol.
Berlanga allegedly rehydrated to 193 pounds For his 12-round unanimous decision loss to Canelo on September 14 last year. The Brooklyn, New York, Berlanga looked massively in the ring with Canelo that night. Surprisingly, he could make the 168 pounds.
When he is so big, he must fight against light heavyweight. Berlanga’s decision to stay at 168 is understandable, but he is not talented enough to even beat additional contenders at 175.
The wish list
‘After my March 8 fight, these are the next six fights I want in no particular order.
Line’em up for me 🇵🇷🇵🇷👑👑, ”says Edgar Berlanga on X.Jamie Munguia
Jermall Charlo
Caleb plant
Hamzah sheeraz
Canelo Alvarez – Rematch
Diego Pacheco
Fighters like Caleb Plant and Hamzah Sheeraz are likely to jump on the chance to fight Berlanga. The former IBF Super Middleweight Champion has already tried to fight against him, but without any luck. If plant did try to fight against him, he could ignore and continue to play it safely, wait and hope that Canelo would bless him with a re -broadcast.
Berlanga has not beaten anyone yet to prove that he is a B-level fighter. He is not a level with what he looked like against Canelo and in some of his other battles.
Berlanga’s best wins:
– Steve Rolls
– Roamer Alexis Angulo
– Marcelo Coceres
– Demond Nicholson
– Jason Quigley
– Padraig McCrory
