Superstar Canelo Alvarez will undergo his left elbow arthroscopic surgery next month, October 23, to remove fragments of the leg in the aftermath of his defeat against Terence Crawford.
Canelo’s timeline for elbow operations
The injury made Canelo’s unanimous 12 round decision even harder to swallow. He lost his undisputed super-middleweight championships against an older, smaller 38-year-old Crawford (42-0, 31 COs).
The Nebraska Crawford has moved two weight classes to dethrone him in front of a large multitude of 70-482 fans at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Of course, this was an embarrassment to the Mexican star who was beaten by a man he was supposed to defeat.
According to Mike CoppingerAlvarez (63-3-2, 39 COs) must wear a pendulum for four to six weeks after surgery. If it comes down, he will still be able to return to the ring in the second quarter of 2026.
Canelo, 35, has two more fights left on his four-game contract with the Riyadh season of Turki Alalshikh. If Alvarez does return, he will have to match carefully if they do not want him to lose again, because he does not seem able to defeat the top five-level contenders at 168.

For the past three years, Canelo has succeeded in getting past by not fighting the crop of the crop at Super Middleweight, which is why Crawford was able to beat him.

Crawford’s victory more over Canelo
