Callum Walsh gave the Irish fans something to celebrate by decorating Scotland’s Dean Sutherland in one brutal round. And if we say iceWe mean it – Walsh exploded a right hook of hell, and the body of Sutherland folded like a cheap cover chair before crashing on the canvas. No score needed. Light out at 2:45 of round one.
This makes it four straight COs for Walsh, which is now sitting on 13-0 (11 COs), like a sincere wreckage in the Super-Welterweight division. Meanwhile, Sutherland drops to 19-2 (7 COs).
Freddie Roach’s new Ko machine?
Walsh is trained by the legendary Freddie Roach, and so far the man has delivered destruction. He is now in Los Angeles, promoted by Tom Loeffler, and considered UFC boss Dana White as part of his large entrance to box. Walsh doesn’t just beat people out of non-he does it at violent, highlight fashion.
Walsh talks big – and has the punch to backup it
“You’re never going to beat the Irish,” Walsh declares after the fight. “I feel very good. Dean Sutherland is a very good opponent. I knew he was going to be dangerous. It was my best opponent. I look forward to the future. I get stronger and stronger. Anyone who comes to me I will take him out. “
No false modesty there, and fair enough – the man steams by opponents.
How far can Walsh go?
At just 24 years old, Walsh is still a few steps from the world level, but the current division of 154 pounds has been piled up with murderer-forging ortiz, Sebastian Fundora, Israil Madrimov, Serhii Bohachuk and Tim Tszyu. However, if he starch at this rate, it will not take long before he knocks on the door.
Is he a future world champion? Too early to say, but one thing is certain – Walsh is not here to play.
