Just 28 days after winning the Honolulu Marathon, a British runner wins the women’s race in Houston.
Less than a month after winning the Honolulu Marathon in tough conditions, Kali Hauger-Tucker won the Houston Marathon on Sunday (January 11) in 2:24:17.
Hauger-Tuckery certainly likes to keep busy, as she has now run eight marathons in the past 27 months, although her best time remains 2:21:24, which she ran in Berlin in September 2024.
The last runner from Britain to win the women’s marathon in Houston was Véronique Maro, who won three times in the 1980s and early 1990s.
Hauger-Thackery hit the middle of the front in Houston and never got the head.
Second-place finisher Sarah Hall of the United States clocked 2:26:26 in 42, with Biruktait Degefa of the United States third in 2:28:07.

Moroccan-American Zuhair Talbi won the men’s race in 2:05:45, with Ethiopia’s Adan Gebre in 2:06:16 and Kenya’s Shadrack Kimining third in 2:07:35.
Ethiopia’s Fantaye Belayne won the half marathon in Houston in 64:49 ahead of Tsige Gebreselama (64:52) and Bouze Diriba (65:57), while Eritrea’s Habtom Samuel Tok won the men’s race in a Kenyan record of 59:01 (59:01).
