Callaway is throwing golf balls with a limited edition faster than throwing another after you have a water risk and, honestly, I’m here for it.
“Turnbox” with the latest Limited edition Chrome Soft may be my favorite, for whatever is worth it.
This collection pays homage to one of the most important places in any golf course: turning stance. You know, that magical oasis between the green and the 10th underneath, where dreams to break 80 clashes with the reality you are actually with the pace to shoot 95, but, hey, at least has hot dogs.
All you need is six birds on the back to make it respected round.
Four wonderful
As with most other omissions of Callaway’s limited publication, the turn box includes four distinct models, each represents a different member of the essential golf food pyramid.
Hamburger – because nothing says “I’m taking this seriously” like a grilled patty in perfectly between ninth and 10th holes.
Chip -bag – Side dish of the universal golf course that somehow costs $ 4 and tastes like the time it traveled from 1987.
Hot dog – The cylindrical champion of the turn stands everywhere. A salty, processed tube of controversial meat, which is perfectly paired with lost strokes and false hope (and in the case of my friend, Andy, a Potty Porta sprint in the back of 16). True story.
TRANSFUSED – My personal favorite. The official drink of “I know I’m playing poorly, but at least I’m hydrated and a little buzzing.”
Performance benefits? Not exactly
Above and beyond the fact that these are tournaments in Chrome (the Callaway’s “New Golden Standard”), there is no benefit of design performance: if you do not count using the hot dog as a stretch aid to show your target Wiener … Excuse me, this was a minor.
These balls will not make you a better golf player, but they are probably fun. And otherwise.
And did I mention the fun?
Ultimately
Look, we all know that you are not buying these for the Hex aerodynamics. You’re buying them because they make you smile because they will laugh at your partners playing and because, deep, we all need a little more joy in our golf games.
Whether you are the type that actually dwells on the maintenance turn or the type that strengthens with nothing other than saliva and determination, the turnbox collection is a play node for one of the excellent golf traditions: the excess concession stands food that somehow tastes better when you are three more.
