Callaway is making golf balls with limited edition of lightning speed. They are falling quite literally one a week at this point. This week, is the third edition in the 2025 Chrome Tour’s main series. The main balls of June continue the slow rotation of Chrome Tour through the largest Golf cities of America – or at least those expecting large championships.
This time They have placed their sights in Pittsburgh. You know, that city with blue collar, where they laid chips in everything and somehow managed to capture 446 bridges in a city because no one wants to take the long way.

The four magnificent (again)
True to form, this limited edition contains four distinct patterns, each by capturing a different piece of Pittsburgh’s unique personality:
Yinz – because nothing says “I’m from Pittsburgh” just like throwing a “yinz” in casual conversation. To the ignorant, “yinz” is Pittsburgh for “you all”, “y’all” or “hey, you idiots there”. Likes like “you guys” but with more attitude and one side of pierogies.

Bridge design #1 – Celebrating Pittsburgh’s absurd commitment to bridge construction. With 446 bridges in one city, they have essentially turned civil engineering into a form of art. Or maybe they just hate ferries.
Bridge design #2 – Because when you have 446 bridges, a golf ball design is simply not enough. This is approximately a bridge for each time you said, “I should have received an extra club” this season.
Connection 412
Sharp -eyed observers will notice the area 412 of the design city in design because nothing says “local pride” just like the telecommunications infrastructure. The type of detail that the locals of Pittsburgh be approved while everyone else wonders why the codes of the area are important in the age of unlimited call plans.
The black and white color scheme, meanwhile, ensures that these balls will either mix perfectly with your terrible towel or disappear completely in rough autumn.
Performance benefits? Is still not the item
As with any major Chrome Tour omission, these are built on the Callaway’s New Gold Standard platform, which means they will perform exactly as regular chrome tours, but with obviously more local aroma. Bridges will not help you navigate the risks of water, “Yinz” will not improve your stroke and area code 412 will eventually not make your phone calls to the most clear Pro shop.
But they can make you smile, and in a sport where we voluntarily subject to four-hour torture sessions as we follow a pale white ball about manicure landscapes, sometimes that’s enough.
Lost Opportunities
Of course, no Pittsburgh tribute would be complete without accepting what it could have been. Like the failure to include Larry Johnson in Charlotte omissions, Callaway lost gold opportunities here. Where is the pattern of Paul scenes mustache? Tribes Mario Lemieux Mullet? A Primanti brothers sandwich?
Come, Callaway. If you go full to Pittsburgh, bend in the absurdity. Give us a golf ball that seems to be immersed in Heinz Ketchup. Make one that resembles a terrible towel. Design something that catches the essence of the French fried placement in a salad and calling it healthy.
Ultimately
These balls will not help you conquer the quick Lightning Oakmont greens or navigate his church bunkers, but they will surely add some steel city swagger to your game. And, indeed, isn’t it for what limited edition golf balls?
