or hole in one it is one of the rarest and most sought-after feats in golf, with many amateur players go their whole lives without making one. For professional players, they are not that special because they are not that rare.
When they happen in a tournament, however, they are much more exciting, given the money and prestige involved. But what if there was something more on the line like, say, a home for someone who desperately needs one?
This is the situation Bubba Watson found himself in this week. Watson, a two-time Masters winner who now plays for LIFE Golfis presenting it at the Indonesian Masters, an Asian Tour event that is part of the International Series.
The tournament’s par-3 11th hole offers a special charity prize. For anyone who accepts, Habitat for Humanity will donate a home to an Indonesian family in need.
In the third round, Watson did just that, hitting a wedge into the hole 154 yards and rolling it into the cup for a 1. Check out the photo below.
Watson’s response was somewhat muted, either out of disbelief or the fact that he couldn’t see the hole from the elevated tee.
It doesn’t matter because it still matters, and one happy family will get a new home thanks to the LIV Golf star.
And that was the only good news for Watson. With his ace, Watson shot a 65 and moved to 14 under for the week, good enough for third place. Unfortunately, he is seven shots off the lead with one round to play.
