For most of the third round of Saturday at 2025 mastersBryson Dechambeau played the second puzzle Rory Mcilroy. But shortly before the darkness fell on Augusta National, Dechambeau stole the momentum with an electric bird in the 18th hole.
Mcilroy charges, Dechambeau hits back
To say Dechambeau at a slow start on Saturday would be incorrect. Was just slow about Mcilroy’s own opening charge. While Bryson made birds in 1 and 2, Mcilroy went birds-eagle over the same stretch, taking over the leadership of the masters in the process.
After Dechambeau made Bogey on 3 and Mcilroy continued a six-direct 3S historical extension to begin, Mcilroy received high billing for the rest of the day.
But Bryson was hanging aroundAnd when he reached 15 with four holes to play, he made his move.
From the outside of the green to the 13th par-5, he hit a clumsy chip and then decided to hit his bird to move in eight under. His shot at 16 ended only a few meters from the hole. He drained it to reach nine under.
Bryson’s birdie bomb
But in the 18th hole, Dechambeau seemed to be temporarily finishing gas. After a monster car, he struck a disappointing approach to him alone on the back of the green, a 48 meters remote from the cup.
A three-putt in the Green Green Green was a special opportunity, which would lead to a broken slap.
But then Dechambeau got up and hit a perfect blow that rolled straight into the hole for an impossible Birdie 3.
When his blow fell, Dechambeau wore a suitable holiday at the moment, pumping the fist around green as clients entered hysterics.
Look at the moment below.
Dechambeau continued the celebration as he left the green, high fans and shouting as he went to the note tent.
After his round, Dechambeau spoke about the overthrow of the moment, saying, “I am still here. I will continue. I will not go down.”
The three concluding birds of Dechambeau moved it to 10 under the sole possession of the second place. Most importantly, she narrowed Mcilroy’s supremacy to two shots going to what should be a last historic round of Sunday.
Sunday masters for Rory and Bryson
So what is under discussion on Sunday in the masters of the two stars at the top of the manager’s table? many.
Neither Mcilroy nor Bryson Dechambeau have won the masters, but both players have many big wins. Mcilroy left for a hot start in his career, winning US Open 2011 and adding three biggest titles by the end of 2014.
But it has been over 10 years since he stayed in the winner’s circle in a major. And the masters have given him the most famous in 2011, when he held a four -stroke lead on Sunday’s turn just to tear down and lose the green jacket.
Dechambeau, on the other hand, has two main victories in his career, but they are both last.
Bryson captured his first US Open title in 2020 on the Winged Foot, then won 2024 US Open in Pinehurst No. 2 last year. The player he defeated in Pinehurst? Rory Mcilroy, of course.
