Oakmont, without. – Bryson Dechambeau, two days before his second open title defense in the US, said he would start negotiating a new contract with Liv Golf at the end of the year.
What comes from those talks, of course, is the question. Subject rose on Tuesday during Dechambeau Pre-Turneut press conference at Oakmont country clubWhere a reporter asked him about the status of his current agreement and if he would think about life after Livi.
“Yes, how do I express this?” Dechambeau started. “Yes, next year is when it is over. We are looking to negotiate this year’s end, and I am very excited. They see the value in me. I look at the value in what they can provide, and I believe we will achieve some sort of solution for that.
“Super excited for the future.”
The status of Dechambeau deals and other Livi players appear to be closely monitored. In 2022, Liv launched against PGA Tour, Dechambeau was among the benefits of the tournament to sign Great, guaranteed contracts With the series – and the pro -golf split for men, along with the possible reunion, has been a topic since that time. Two years ago, the tournament and main supporter of Livi, the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund, agreed to come to an agreement, giving hope to the idea of returning to a tour, but those talks stuck in the spring.
A new Dechambeau contract with Liv would strengthen the district prospects. But if Liv is to lose the big winner twice and others will face sustainability questions.
On Tuesday, Dechambeau said he believed Liv “is nowhere to go” and that team golf, the format in which Liv Lives, is “a trading opportunity”. At the last point, Dechambeau praised TGL, Simulator-Based, Team-Golf League that began in January and contains players of the tournament.
“TGL has done a great job,” Dechambeau said. “They have some teams that are earning money, and I believe there is a steady model there.
“How everything works with the golf game, who knows, but I know my value. I know what Liv brings to the table. And I’m excited about the future of what will be golf.”
Dechambeau was also asked how his sponsors have changed since his first US Open victory in 2020, and if Liv has influenced his sponsor’s appeal – and he said “it was not Livi’s disintegration”.
“I would say that, yes, there were many sponsors, and with all honesty, Liv has been very free for me, in a good way, in a really good way where people who want to be with us want to be with us. We have taken Qualcomm now
“If anything, it is helped almost to be reset, like, who wants to be part of this, and I think it’s really interesting. My perspective is who wants to be a part of the Crushers (Dechambeau’s Livi team), who wants to be part of my content on YouTube. support and who continue to support.
“I think it’s actually been a great thing, and from a sponsorship perspective, we’re starting to move now. We have a lot of great income coming, and maybe in a year from now, I hope to discover some extraordinary master plans for what we will do with Crushers and Whatnot. There are some exciting things down the line.”
