Before the Liv’s Golf’s Indianapolis event this week, Bryson Dechambeau stopped by “The Pat McAfee Show” for a wide interview with the personality of popular sports media. AND Bone champion twice did not disappoint.
During an almost long appearance, Dechambeau offered some bold claims for the popularity of Golf on YouTube compared to Pro Golf, and the desire among players for a Union PGA Tour-Liv.
Dechambeau says some PGA Tour professionals will ‘love’ playing in liv
Early in Dechambeau Interview at The Pat McAfee Show“McAfee asked if Dechambeau was aware of the exciting conclusion at the FedEx St. Jews last week at PGA Tour.
McAfee referred to Victory of Justin Rose’s Play Off to JJ SPAUN As the “cinema” then asked Dechambeau if he and his friends Liv Pro sometimes look at great tournaments and want them to play in them, or, alternatively, whether he thinks some PGA Tour professionals want to play at Liv Events.

“There are some tours (PGA Tour) where great golf is happening. In Liv, you boys look and want to be on this?” McAfee asked Dechambeau. “Or, are there some weekends where … you assume there are some boys in PGA (tours) that wouldn’t think they were part of what we are doing?”
Dechambeau responded by claiming he thinks both statements are true, including that some tournament players would like to put it in the LIVE events.
“I would say it’s a very fair statement from both sides of the currency. I would like to play against Scottie Scheffler, and I think he would like to play against some of us here in some points in time depending on how things are shaking at the end,” Dechambeau said. “So do we have to play more? One hundred percent. But at the end of the day is what it is. It will be understood, guys, isn’t there yet.”
Bryson’s last point falls true. There have been few signs throughout the year that PGA Tour and PIF, which goes Liv, are closer to a final deal This would end Pro Golf’s bifurcation and see the best of the two tours competing against each other more often.
Both sides are being forged forward to a 2026 season as separate entities.
Bryson thinks YouTube Golf is more popular than PGA Tour
But Dechambeau’s boldest claim, though not a startling, involved increased popularity of Golf on YouTube, with Dechambeau Front and Center.
His YouTube channel It has increased exponentially over the past year, collecting millions of video views. Bryson’s channel is just part of a larger Youtube Golf ecosystem that is extremely popular, especially among the new players.
But Macafee show, Dechabaau did not just argue that YouTube Golf is popular, he claimed that he “really thinks there is an opportunity” that viewing on YouTube is higher than pro -golf viewing.
“I have a hypothesis,” Dechambea began, “which the entertainment side of the golf is probably already bigger than the professional golf game. I really think there is an opportunity in this.”
To make his view, Dechambeau used the visibility of the masters as an example.
“If you think about the amount of viewing in masters compared to youtube videos all connected together … Those amounts of views on YouTube are more than those who receive normal broadcasts,” Dechambeau claimed.
Comparisons between youtube viewing and traditional Golf TV viewing are difficult at best. Golf broadcasts on TV are live and usually operate for 3-5 hours. Fans can only watch them during that small window. YouTube videos are available to look at any time after they are posted, and they accumulate views over time.
As an example, let’s compare Master’s gaze on Sunday this year with Dechambeau’s most popular YouTube video.
Sunday CBS transmission of 2025 masters ran for five hours, or 300 minutes. it drew on average 12.7 million viewers During those 300 minutes. The peak view exceeded 19.5 million viewers.
If we multiply medium viewers (12.7 million) with the transmission length (300 minutes), we are viewed with 3.81 billion minutes.

Dechambeau’s most popular video so far is his “Can I break 50” video with President Donald Trump. In more than a year since it was posted in July 2024, the video has won over 16 million views. There is a sloping abandonment in the view for his next most popular video, “Breaking 50” with John Daly, with 9.3 million views in 11 months. All, but six of Bryson’s videos have less than 5 million views.
The Trump video is just less than 56 minutes. If we multiply the total images (16 million) for length in minutes (56), we take 896 million total minutes. But this is assuming that each of the 16 million viewers watched the entire 56-minute video-which we know is not. On YouTube, an average 50 percent view is considered extraordinary for a video. If Bryson’s Trump video won an average time of 50 percent, it drops the total minutes viewed to 448 million.
In short, the CBS Masters’ Sunday broadcast in 2025 won 3.81 billion minutes of viewing in five hours, while we appreciate Dechambeau’s Trump video has drawn 448 million minutes of total viewing in one year.
Of course, this is a rough comparison between a round of pro on TV Golf and a YouTube golf video from a single channel. The impact of Pro Golf and Golf YouTube extends beyond a single TV or video broadcast. It is difficult to make a complete comparison, but this data helps you understand why linear TV is still worth much more than YouTube.
