Bryson Dechambeau referred to Augusta National as “paradise” on Friday after the first round of Liv Miami in Trump National Doral.
Following the purpose of a two-nine-par 70 in the second round of Saturday, the two-time US Open sample finds himself two clean hit of Sergio Garcia and in position to reach 2025 masters in the top-like form and outside.
“I would say I’m in a big mental frame,” Dechambeau said after Friday’s round. “I’m happy about life. It got a lot of positive things that go to me, not only (with my YouTube channel) but out of this, in business, and only the people I have around me. I think we are stronger than ever, and that is what matters most, in the end of confidence.”
Dechambeau History in Augusta National He had clashed with battles before last year’s publication. He completed T21 in 2016 as an amateur, but failed to hit the top 25 places in his next beginnings. This included the lost back-back cuts in 2022 and 2023. The 2022 edition included an 80 of the second round that was indicative of Dechambeau’s fighting with the iconic course.
But he found something last year. He shot an open round 65 and was tied to the lead at the point of half. He went 75-73 to the weekend to finish T6. This served as the dance point for a big season that saw it end up as a Championship PGA competitor before trusting Rory Mcilroy to win the US Open 2024 in Pinehurst No. 2.
This success is the product of the supreme talent mixed with the peace found when someone becomes comfortable on their skin.
Last year was vital to Dechambeau. Healthy after encountering some injuries, he poured some of the weights gained during his days of Bulkim and found a way to go from the Golf Zuzar to his favorite fans during the big season last year.
Add to the success of his well -known YouTube channel, and you get a version of Bryson Dechambeau who is happy with the course, who helped give the strong game in her last year.
So far this season, Dechambeau has not hit the first five at a liv event. He started the season with a T6 in Riyadh before going T18-T10 to Adelaide, Hong Kong and Singapore. According to Datagolf, Dechambeau is the seventh in Liv this season in strokes. While his driver remains a weapon (+1.55 strokes won: outside of tee), he has fought with his iron game (-0.22 strokes gained in access) and setting (-0.41 strokes).
He has been Tinkering with different golf ballsHoping to find one who rotated the right amount for his game. Dechambeau has currently landed in Titest Prov1x2025, but the search is far away.
“A little lower, a little more control with half of my shooting,” Dechambeau said for his ball. “That was a big thing. The left left is an excellent golf ball in strong conditions, but when it became soft, it just super spin, and then when I tried to take half shots from the left pigeon, I would simply tweak up so that I wouldn’t spin enough. So I didn’t do it. They are prototizes, and we will see where you go.
Dechambeau’s game has been clear through two rounds in Trump National Doral. He is one of the only three players (Sergio Garcia, Marc Leishman) to shoot under the front in each of the first two rounds.
Another strong round of Sunday can be enough to give Dechambeau his first Liv victory since 2023 and make him reach Augusta National as one of the favorites, along with Scottie Scheffler and Rory Mcilroy.
It will be the first time Dechambeau rolls down Magnolia Lane without questions related to the ability of his game to join the sacred bases in Augusta, Georgia. Even if those whispers remain, it is unlikely to be important to a man now completely satisfied with what he is and with the decisions he has made.
