Brooks Running Episode 01:
Danny Mackey:
Danny Mackey is the founding coach of the Brooks Beast Track Club, where athletes train from the 800-meter marathon. Most of his athletes are in 800 m -10,000-meter events.
The approach of his observed in the coaching process is a great way to show coaching art. Danny looks at each athlete as an individual and good accusations to plan and purpose of each athletes.
Danny Mackey comes from a strong high school and college management experience. Dan told us that he wanted to be a coach twenty years old.
We asked Danakaki about working with high school athletes in this episode

- How to develop the threshold tempo?
- Like different trainings (threshold, Fartleks). Our bodies are crave valizy, different pace.
- Starting discipline and an interrelated approach to launch.
- Have fun, this is a training.
- The thoughts of the recovery, the athletes keep it easy, Josh Kerr uses approximately analog clock, others use heart race monitors, keeps the heart with 130 shots per minute.
- Weight work for medium distance runners. Sliding, hip expansions, basic power, Squats are good (posture is important). Close schemes, hug drag down, bench press, placing a good basis. In the weight room no more than 30-40 minutes.
- Long run for high school. 65-70 minutes for the first year teens, 85-90 minutes for the elderly. But remember that it’s so individual. Check them for 50-60 minutes after a run. Do you remember Jack Daniel’s heart level course? 90 minutes token where complete glycogen stores. Depending on the athlete.
- Tempo Runs. 20-25 seconds slowly than average mile tempo in the current 5K race. Dan offered even 25-30 seconds slowly from one mile slowly than the current 5K race.

- Fartlek: Danny’s main high school training form:
- Danny Mackey offers to distinguish surfaces with different shoes (ghosts for 17 hard days, easy and long days). “I had a normal run shoes, then a hyperton for fast work.”
- Your best athletes like Brandon and Isaia at Spikes / “No we only put spikes if they do 800m speed or faster 25’s 25
- Warming “Twenty minutes of easy run, missed, b spips, high knees, shock, toys, straight legs, but starts, then exercise begins.”
- Cooldown.
- Own the deliberate approach to Tokyo.
- How do I describe Danny Mackey? Danny “speaks by scientific method.” I took it from a piece of late and large Ken Moore.
- Danny Makayi is talking about their coaching team.
- How would Danist talk to young athletes?
- The cost of the coaching clinic, the part of the community is important. If workout is getting alone, it’s really hard.
- Coaching resources. Altis is a great resource.
