Brighton vs Man Utd: Preview, Predictions and Lineups

Manchester United travel to the south coast this Saturday lunchtime to face Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

The Red Devils began their Premier League campaign with a late win over Fulham, substitute and new summer signing Joshua Zirkzee scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win. It was not a very convincing performance from Erik ten Hag and they will need to improve for their trip down south this weekend.

Brighton got off to a dream start with the debut of new manager Fabian Hurzeler. The Seagulls hit three unanswered goals against Everton at Goodison Park, with bright new recruits on Merseyside. He will be hoping to continue his impressive recent record against United, even if they tasted defeat in the most recent meeting.

here it is 90 minutes guide to Brighton vs Man Utd.

Brighton are short on players for the visit of Man Utd but new signing Yankuba Minteh should be available despite picking up a head injury at Goodison Park.

Bart Verburggen is still absent, so Jason Steele will start again and Solly March has yet to recover from his long-term knee injury. Julio Enciso is also likely to miss this summer due to a knee injury picked up as an international.

Tariq Lamptey could feature despite speculation of a summer move and both Pervis Estupinan and Evan Ferguson are closing in on returns from long-term injuries. It remains to be seen whether they will be cleared to face Man Utd.

Expected Brighton v Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1): Steele; Veltman, Van Hecke, Dunk, Hinshelwood; Milner, Wieffer; Minteh, Pedro, Mitoma, Welbeck.

Rasmus Højlund

Four United players are the trip to the Amex Stadium is sure to be missedwith Leny Yoro, Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw unavailable in defence. The latter has suffered another injury after returning for Euro 2024, sidelining him until after the international break in September.

Rasmus Hojlund is still out after picking up a hamstring injury in pre-season against Arsenal and Zirkzee could be in for a place up top given his heroics against Fulham on matchday one.

Victor Lindelof is a doubt for Saturday’s clash but could feature in some way, while Jadon Sancho’s future remains unclear. He was omitted from the Fulham squad, but Ten Hag have claimed that he was due to an ear infection.

Man Utd predicted line-up against Brighton (4-2-3-1): Onana; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Martinez, Dalot; Casemiro, Mainoo; Garnatxo, Fernandes, Rashford; Zirkzee.

Man Utd struggled to get out of second gear against Fulham, but they should only get stronger as the weeks go on and their new signings come through. However, they have struggled against Brighton in recent games and may have similar problems against Hurzeler’s men.

Brighton were outstanding in pre-season and made light work of Everton on the road in their first competitive outing of the campaign. Some smart summer moves and a positive vibe around the south coast could see them earn a draw against the Red Devils.

Prediction: Brighton 1-1 Man Utd
