Norman Sr reveals Turki’s plan
It wasn’t Haney who asked for the fight. Brian Sr. Say the idea was to give Haney an easy first battle against Jose Ramirez, and then fight him for the last two fights on the contract for Ryan Garcia.
However, Ryan’s loss of Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero spoiled things. So it took him out of the equation. After that, Norman jr. (28-0, 22 COs) approached to be Haney’s opponent for his second fight of his three-game contract.

Norman, 24, is younger, bigger, stronger and still on the way. He did not hit his highlight.
Turki’s Haney-Garcia plan failed

With the money paid by Turki Devin, you can understand why he chose Norman JR. He wants value after giving him a soft opponent in his first battle of his three-game contract, so he could fight Ramirez. It is understandable why Turki was willing to fight Haney against him, because it was important that he win to set up the two fights against Ryan Garcia. What he did not take into account was Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero who was too good for Ryan.
“I give Devin Haney to act and accept this battle. He has not sought this battle. It gives us the opportunity to put his name on our resume because it is a well -needed name on our resume,” says Norman Jr.
