Norman jr. (27-0, 21 CO’s) studied the ‘habits’ of Sasaki (19-1-1, 17 COs) and says he can’t do anything in this battle that will surprise him. It is not surprising that Norman Jr. So confident, because Sasaki, 23, is more a beginner than a true contender.
Sasaki: an unworthy opponent
The World Boxing Organization gave him a #2 rankings, but its entire resume is filled with fighters at lower level. Sasaki should really be nowhere near the upper level or even top 50. His resume is horrible.
The Norman Jr. At Sasaki event will be streamed Live on ESPN+ on Thursday, June 19, at 07:15 o’clock ET/16: 15 pm pt. It will be interesting to know what Norman’s promoters on top rank think about his choice of Sasaki as his opponent.
They can’t be too happy about this struggle because it is an obscure fighter, and the time of the opportunity means that many fans will not see it. It is a waste for Norman Jr.’s career as well as the top rank, because its popularity will not grow from this battle. It will not be seen. Sasaki would be a good opponent for one of the lower -seeded contenders at 147, such as Karen Chukhadzhian.
I don’t think he would stand a chance against Chukhadzhian, but this is the type of fighter to try to earn his stripes.
Why fans ignore Norman-Sasaki
This is the kind of fight that would be overlooked, even if it was shown on the usual time slot on Saturday night. Fans have not yet talked about this battle, because IIT is one that is not attractive. It is a mismatch.
The top rank must be Norman jr. Leading against a more significant fighters in the future so that he can build/ defend his name, such as Sasaki, is a bad look.
“I know Sasaki’s habits, techniques and everything he wants to do,” Norman said. “There is nothing he can do to surprise me except to grow a third arm. I expect him to fight harder than he has ever had before because of the scope of this struggle, but the end result will still be the same. I came with my belt and I left with my belt. ‘
Sasaki’s last six opponents
– Shoki Sakai
– Qamil Balla
– Joe Nynay
– Hiroto Hoshi
– Keita Obara
– Ryota Toyoshima
Milk the WBO Welterweight title
Which of the fighters was good enough for the WBO to give Sasaki a #2 rankings? That’s what I want to know. As far as I can know, those bottom 100-level welter weights. It’s good that Sasaki beat them, but how can it amount to the high rankings he got?
Norman jr. Looks like his intention is to milk his WBO title for as long as possible. This is the wrong kind of champion. If he’s going to fight guys like Sasaki, one of the talented contenders must move 140 pounds to 147 and profane him.
