Tim Bradley lectured Gervonta Davis on his channel today for losing out on his $40 million pocket for the Jake Paul fight due to the civil lawsuit filed against him by his ex-girlfriend last October.
$40 million gone
The lawsuit led to the YouTuber boxing star’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) canceling the November 14 exhibition bout with Tank Davis. Bradley scolded Tank for the blown chance to bag the $40 million. He didn’t just trash Davis. He also started in MVP and grilled them for picking Tank in the first place. In other words, they should have known better.

“Let’s lean on Tank for a second. You have to be the dumbest guy in the history of boxing. $40 million down the drain,” said Tim Bradley on his YouTube channelGervonta ‘Tank’ Davis scrapped for the Jake Paul exhibition fight due to the civil lawsuit against him. “I’m like $40 million, bro—literally, wealth down the drain. I don’t get it.”
The lawsuit was officially filed in October, after Tank Davis already signed for the Jake Paul exhibition on September 23, 2025. He wouldn’t have known. That’s a big payday Tank Davis is missing out on with the $40 million down the drain.
MVP’s Rookie Moves
“MVP promotions, whatever you call your promotions. It’s more like rookie promotions. You don’t know what you’re dealing with. You had no clue,” Bradley said. “This has always been up Tank’s alley. It’s always come up in the last few fights of Tank’s career. MVP, more like rookie promotions, you all should have had a backup plan. You should have had a backup fighter.”
It was a bad idea for Jake Paul to use Tank Davis as his opponent in the November 14th exhibition match from the start. With his record of legal troubles outside the ring. Additionally, the backlash over cruiserweight Paul using the much smaller 135-pounder Tank as his opponent made him look pathetic in the eyes of fans. It wasn’t worth it.
“You should have had a plan B just in case this guy, Tank Davis, didn’t show up. Now, you look like idiots. I heard through the grapevine that the joint isn’t even selling. Yeah, because everybody’s sick of your bullcrap, Jake Paul. As soon as you moved to Florida, I knew that joint wasn’t going to sell, brother Bradley.
It would have to be a big name for Jake to have as Plan B, for him to sell out the 20,000 seat Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. For that kind of fight, the backup option would have to be either an active star or one of the fire mega names that fans would be eager to see Jake face in an exhibition.
Exhibitions Gone Stale
Boxing fans are tired of exhibition matches. Floyd Mayweather Jr. have done it over and over for the last seven years, and people don’t want to see those types of fights in large numbers.
Bradley says that Jake needs to start fighting “real fighters, somebody in the top 10.” The problem with that is that there aren’t really any big names at cruiserweight that fans would want to see Paul face.
The most popular fighters, Jai Opetaia and Gilberto Ramirez, are not stars in the US. Although Ramirez fought throughout his career in the US, he did not become a big name. The only way Jake can bring in fans is by facing either popular heavyweights or fighters from the 175- or 168-lb divisions. Bringing in these warriors is what Paul needs:

- Tyson Fury
- David Benavidez
- Terence Crawford
- Canelo Alvarez
- Jaron Ennis
- Artur Beterbiev
- Dmitry Bivol
The downside of Jake Paul fighting one of those guys is that he’ll probably lose and get knocked out in an embarrassing way. He’s not going to be able to compete against either of them without landing a big punch to score a knockout.
