WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson (24-0, 11 COs) surprisingly stood his ground tonight and won a dubious unanimous 12-round decision over William Zepeda (33-1, 27 food) in their fellow factory at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.
The scores were 118-110, 118-110 and 119-109. The scores were disturbingly bad because they did not match the fight that took place tonight. I had the struggle for Zepeda with an exclusion.
With Shakur choosing to fight stationary, Zepeda used it by landing on the head and body all night. In the round, he threw Shakur and almost dropped him right on his head. Stevenson’s punch output prevented him from adapting to all the blows that emerged.
Zepeda’s pressure eventually led Shakur to return in the 10th time, and he continued it in the last two rounds. The crowd was running, but Stevenson couldn’t do much. He couldn’t handle Zepeda’s volume punch. He literally had to return to his Jerry himself.
Surprisingly, the judges did not give Zepeda for his body shots, and he focused more on the head shots that Shakur land occasionally.

Those statistics looked, because Zepeda ended up a lot more than 153 strokes tonight. It was ridiculously poor statistics.
