Ricardo Sandoval (27-2, 18 food) deprived the WBA and WBC flyweight champion Shiro Teraji (25-2, 16 COs) and won on Wednesday night in a dismay in Yokohama Tantai in Yokohama, Japan.
The scores were 117-110, 115-112 for Sandoval and 114-113 for Teraji. You may argue that the judge who achieved it wide for Sandova, 26, was too generous in his standings because it was much closer than the 117-110 he turned on. Interestingly, a visiting fighter received favorable scores with a wide margin rather than the home man, Teraji.
Teraji looked early on that he would be too good for sandoval, with movement and fast combinations to make the American better. In round five, Teraji, 33, dropped sandoval to the head with a right hand.
Teraji’s fatigue: Key factor
Sandoval came back strong and attacked Teraji with body shots and used continuous pressure to carry the older fighter. The pressure of sandoval slowly carries down Teraji, which looks exhausted by the ninth round. His velocity, movement and strength have deteriorated in the last four rounds of the effects of the constant attacks of Sandoval.
The end result was due to the fatigue of Teraji rather than that sandoval looks especially good. What may have played a role in the battle was the cruel twelve -round fought that Teraji had four months ago against Seigo Yuri Kui on March 13 in Japan.
Although Teraji won by a 12th round, it was a razor game until that point, and he took many shots of oak. It was an error of Teraji to return to the ring for a title defense against a hungry, motivated sandy without proper rest.
Sandoval’s relentless pressure wins
Teraji’s energy levels were not what they were during his battle against foothold, and he had the same kind of pressure during the battle, but against a better fighter than Sandoval.
The early morning time for tonight’s Teraji against Sandoval started it made our fans difficult to look at. Many American fans did not get the chance to see the fight. In addition, the promotion of the fight was not there to create a lot of interest in getting up casual box fans at 5am to look at.
