BF Super Lightweight champion Liam Paro (25-1, 15 KOs) lost a split decision to IBF North American, WBC Silver and WBO NABO champion Richardson Hitchins (20-0, 7 KOs) at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente on Saturday night , San Juan, Puerto Rico.
In the first three rounds, Paro landed Hitchins. A right cross hit Hitchins in the fourth and sent him several steps to his left. In the fifth round, Hitchins drew blood from Paro’s nose.
In the seventh round’s final minute, Hitchins landed a solid right on Paro’s chin. In the eleventh round, Hitchins knocked out Paro. In the twelfth and final lap it went back and forth, with Hitchins holding a slight lead.
Scores 117-111 for Paro, 116-112 and 116-112 for Hitchins.
WBO Latino Super Feather Champion southpaw Henry ‘Moncho’ Lebron, 20-0 (10) defeated Christopher ‘Pitufo’ Diaz, 29-5 (19) over ten rounds for the vacant IBF Latino title.
Through the first eight rounds, Lebron mostly had his way against the aggressive Diaz. In the ninth round, a clash of heads caused a cut to Lebron’s left eyebrow. In the tenth and final round, Diaz chased Lebron the entire round.

WBC Youth Silver and WBA No. American Welterweight Champion Jalil ‘Major’ Hackett, 9-1 (7) lost a split decision to Jose ‘Chito’ Roman, 14-1 (6) over ten rounds.
In the first six rounds, Hackett was largely in front with the back. In the eighth round, Hackett, who has had trouble gaining weight, seems to be slowing down as Roman takes the round.
In the ninth round, Roman countered Hackett, who emerged with swelling outside Hackett’s right eye. In the tenth and final round, Roman, who lost the first half of the fight, came back and took the last three with swelling under his right eye at the end.
Referee Roberto Ramirez. Score 96-94 for Roman, 96-94 Hackett, and 96-94 for Roman. A raffle wouldn’t have hurt.
Continental Americas Light Champion Marc Castro, 13-1 (8) lost over ten rounds by split decision to Agustin ‘Sugar’ Quintana, 21-2-1 (13).
It went back and forth in the first three rounds, with Castro holding the edge. In the fourth and fifth rounds, Quintana came back and took both rounds.
In the sixth and seventh rounds, Castro outboxed Quintana for the most part. In the eighth and ninth rounds, Quintana came back to take the round.
In the tenth and final round, Castro both swung wildly and had Quintana on the ropes for the most part.

WBA Continental Americas & WBC Silver Champion Yankiel ‘El Doctorcito’ Rivera, 7-0 (3), #112, of Toa Alta, PR, stopped NABF Fly Champion Angel ‘Set if off’ Gonzalez, 14-1 (7), # 110.8, of Longwood, FL, at 2:10 of the fourth round of a scheduled 10 laps.
In the fourth round, Rivera dropped Gonzalez with a combination to the chin for an 8 count from referee Pabon. Seconds later he hurt Gonzalez with a right to the chin and another to the back and down he went for an 8 count. The referee Luis Pabon waved it off.
In the opening match, WBA Continental Americas Welterweight Champion, southpaw Stefanie ‘The Medicine’ Piniero, 8-0 (2), #146.4, of Bayamon, PR, defeats Kalinda Faria, 2-3 (0), #139.8, of Sao Paulo , BRZ , over 8×2 laps.
In the first three rounds, Piniero had the lead. In the fourth round, Pinero rocked Faria midway through with a right hook to the chin.
In the final seconds of the seventh rounds, Faria ran from Piniero to get to the bell. Faria was torn on both eyes. In the eighth and final round, the taller southpaw Piniero continued to dominate Faria.

Super Light southpaw William ‘Willito’ Ortiz, 7-0 (4), #140, of Toa Alta, PR easily defeated Lionell ‘Taz’ Omar Colon, 6-1 (3), #139 ¼, of PR, Ocala , FL, over 6 rounds.
In the first round, both had their moments. In the second round, Ortiz rocked Colon on several occasions with lead lefts to the chin. In the fourth round, Ortiz continued to outwork Ortiz, who didn’t seem to be doing much until the final seconds, possibly trying to steal a round.
In the fifth round with a minute left, Ortiz landed a left on the chin and knocked Kolon back a few steps. Colon ended up with an abrasion around his left eye. In the sixth and final round, Ortiz continued to dominate Colon.

Bantam Juan ‘Juancito’ Zayas of Bayamon, PR defeated Geraldo ‘Rigondiaux’ Valdez of Santo Domingo, DR over 8 rounds.
In the first four rounds, Zayas had the lead. In the sixth round, Zayas suffered a cut over his right eyelid. In the eighth round, Zayas was cautioned for holding throughout the round
