Raymond Ford (16-1-1, 8 KO) returned to his winning ways with a lopsided ten-round unanimous decision victory over Orlando Gonzalez (23-3, 13 KO) in a super featherweight bout Saturday night at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
Former WBA featherweight champion Ford, 25, showed excellent power in his right hand, knocking Gonzalez down with hooks to the head in rounds two and eight. Gonzalez made things easy for Ford by standing in front of him and presenting an easy target.
Ford looked like a shark, going for the knockout in rounds nine and ten, but was unable to catch Gonzalez to get anything meaningful. He motioned for Gonzalez to stop so he could continue to land him with right hooks, but he wanted no part in letting the younger, more powerful Ford finish him off.
The scores were 99-89, 100-89 and 100-88.
