Boxing results: Pierce’s power prevails: Dasmarinas falls in the ninth

Elijah Pierce (21-2, 17 food), Michael Dasmarinas (36-5-2, 25 COs) in the ninth round stop for the WBO International Featherweight Championship on Friday in the Tabernacle in Atlanta, Georgia. The competition was stopped at 2:01 of the ninth round.

In the first round, Dasmarinas surpassed Pierce and dropped Pierce for thirty seconds in the final with a counter on the chin for an 8 scores by referee Malik Waleed. In the second round it could have gone anyway. In the third round, Dasmarinas chalked out Pierce.

In the fourth round, Dasmarinas deteriorated and Pierce countered well. In the fifth round, due to a head bud, Pierce was cut on the right eye. Dasmarinas still counteracted him well. In the sixth round, sometimes, Pierce would be walked down with his hands and hit by Dasmarinas. Midway Dasmarinas sustained a small cut on his right eyebrow.

In the seventh round, Pierce constantly came forward and left an upper hand only once. Dasmarinas continued to Outland Pierce. In the eighth round, Pierce went to the body more when Dasmarinas stood in front of him. It was a good round for Pierce.

In the ninth round, Pierce Dasmarinas dropped with a pressure and left in the first minute to an 8 scores of referee Waleed. Dasmarinas looked exhausted. In the last minute, Pierce landed a right hook to the body and then landed on the chin and dropped Dasmarinas on his butt for the Earl of referee Waleed.

In the Co-Main event, the 2021 Olympic Bronze Medalist, IBO and IBF World Junior Middleweight Champ Southpaw Oshae ‘Suga’ Jones (9-0, 3 COs) has a 10-round decision on the no. 2 ranks of Elijah ‘Soul Snatcher’ Carranza (11-2, 3 food) won.

In the first round, Jones surpassed Carranza. In the final seconds of the second round, Jones landed some right heels to the chin and shocked Carranza. In the fourth round it was a better one for Carranza, although he didn’t win the round.

In the fifth round it was nearby, with Jones stealing the round at the end. In the sixth and seventh rounds, Jones continued to work out Carranza. In the eighth round, Jones continued to win.

In the ninth round, Carranza made a battle for it, although he lost another round. In the tenth and last round, Jones took another and surpassed a match of Carranza.

The scores were 96-94 Jones, 100-90 Carranza and 98-92 Jones. Malik Waleed was the referee.

Super Featherweight Haven Brady, jr. (16-0, 6 food) easily defeated Demichael Harris (12-2-1, 11 COs) with a unanimous decision of 10 round.

In the first three rounds, Brady Harris worked out and had him on defense. At the center of the fourth round, Brady landed half a dozen unanswered bumps and Harris had against the ropes.

In the last minute of the fifth round, referee Antonio Mohan took a point of Harris for a low blow. Another round for Brady. In the sixth round, Brady Harris hurt with a left hand to the body halfway around. In the seventh round, Brady had a big round of Harris. In the eighth round of the eighth round, Brady landed four left brackets to Harris’s chin.

In the last minute of the ninth round, Brady Harris injured a left hook on the chin. He takes another round. In the tenth and last round, Brady Harris had his feet in the last minute with a few left brackets on the chin. Brady practices from Philadelphia under coach Bozy Ennis. It was his first ten.

The scores were 100-89, 100-89 and 100-89.

Welterweight Southpaw Morgan ‘mo millions’ Griggie (8-1, 5 COs) lost a decision to a different racial wreath (9-0, 7 COs) by a unanimous six-round decision.

In the last minute of the second round, Garland Griggie rocked a right to the chin. Both rounds won. In the final seconds of the third round, Garland shook Griggie with a right to the chin.

In the fourth round to a minute South Paw, Griggie landed his first solid punch an edge on the chin of the cliff. Garland controlled the rest of the road. In the last minute of the fifth round, Garland Griggie injured a right to the body. In the sixth and final round, Griffie had his best round in a competitive match. Griggie swollen under his right eye at the end.

The scores were 58-56, 58-56 and 59-55. Antonio Mohan was the referee.

Super Middleheight ‘The Brickbuster’ Nathan Lugo (5-0, 5 food) knocked out Rashad McWilliams (4-1, 3 COs) at 2:39 from the first round of a scheduled six rounds.

In the first round, after twenty seconds, a double right of Lugo on the Ken McWilliams dropped for an 8 score of referee Antonio Mohan. In the last minute, Lugo slipped a right hand and confronted with a right side on the chin and drove McWilliams across the ring to the bottom of the ropes in a sitting position and counted by referee Mohan.

Super featherweight ‘notorious’ Julio Gomez (7-3-2, 6 COs) lost with a unanimous decision of six round to Desmond “X” Lyons (10-3, 2 COs).

In the first two rounds, Lyons, who returned to the ring after two years, showed a good left hook to take both rounds from Gomez. In the third round, Lyons had a good round and dropped Gomez with a left hook on the chin for an 8 scores of referee Malik Waled in the last minute. Gomez was cut on the right eyebrow in the first minute of the round.

In the fourth and fifth rounds, Lyons controlled the action. In the sixth and final round, Gomez, knowing he was behind, put pressure on Lyons to take the round. Lyons swollen outside his right eye at the end.

The scores were 58-55, 58-55 and 59-54.

The middleweight Elijah ‘Kaboom’ Lugo (3-0, 1 food) stopped Southpaw Marquis ‘Poncho Blue Head’ Williams (3-3, 2 costs) at 1:47 of the fifth round of a scheduled six rounds.

In the first three rounds, the 18-year-old Lugo, with more than 200 amateur fights, uses an uncomfortable style that seems to be looking for a knockout. Southpaw Williams holds a stitch in his face and occurs in a close battle that Lugo has a lead.

In the fourth round, referee Malik Waleed took a point of Williams for Holding. In the first minute of the fifth round, Lugo landed a right of the capital letter to the middle part and dropped Williams for an 8 scores of referee Waleed. With a little over a minute left, Lugo landed another body shot with his right side and dropped Williams, which was counted.
