Boxing results: Keyshawn Davis stops Gustavo Lemos


Keyshawn ‘The Businessman’ Davis has scored three knockouts, making IBF no. 6, Gustavo ‘El Electrico’ Lemos, was stopped in the second round on Friday night in front of more than 10,000 fans at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.

In the co-feature, WBO NABO middleweight champion Troy ‘Transformer’ Isley (14-0, 5 KOs) easily defeated Tyler ‘Hercules’ Howard (20-2, 11 KOs) over ten lopsided rounds.

In the first five rounds, Isley outmatched Howard, who seemed unable to pull the trigger despite throwing plenty of punches.

From the sixth round to the end, Howard continued to come forward but rarely threw anything.

Welterweight southpaw Kelvin ‘Night Night’ Davis (14-0, 7 KOs) defeated southpaw Yeis ‘El Tigre’ Solano (15-4, 10 KOs) by knockout over eight rounds.

The taller Davis boxed well in the first four rounds, outmaneuvering the deceptive Solano.

In the final round, Davis dropped Solano with a right cross to the chin for an 8 count from referee Bill Clancy and managed to get to the bell.

Scores 80-71, 79-72 and 79-72.

Lightweight southpaw Abdullah Mason (16-0, 14 KOs) came off the canvas twice to stop Yohan ‘La Fiera’ Vasquez (26-6, 21 KOs) at 1:59 of the second round of a scheduled eight round to knock out.

In the opening rounds, Vasquez countered with a left hook to the chin that dropped Mason who immediately got up for an 8 count by referee Brent Bovell. Mason came back halfway and dropped Vasquez with a left to the chin for an 8 count. In the final seconds, Vasquez dropped Mason with a left to the chin for another 8 count.

In the second round, near the end of two minutes, Mason dropped Vasquez with a left uppercut to the body and a right after he was down for the count from referee Bovell.

Junior middleweight Keon Davis, 1-0) defeated Jalen Moore (1-2, 1 KO) over four rounds.

The taller Davis boxed well and outplayed Moore throughout.

Referee Bill Clancy. The scores were 40-36, 40-36 and 40-36.

Middle ‘The Native Nightmare’ Austin Deanda (15-0, 10 KOs) defeated DeAundre ‘Dixianimal’ Pettus (12-2, 7 KOs) in eight rounds.

In the first four rounds, DeAndra Pettus was outworked. His trainer, Scot Sigmon, made a fool of himself from the corner by calling Pettus a bum, which only made Pettus fight that much harder. From the fifth to the eighth, both had their moments.

In the first three rounds, Meriwether had an edge. In the fourth round, Howard came back well, taking the round and landing Meriwether.

Feather Ra’eese ‘The Beast’ Aleem (21-1, 12 KOs) defeated Derlyn ‘El Coyote’ Hernandez-Gerarldo (12-3-1, 10 KOs) over ten rounds scoring the only knockout.

In the third round, Aleem landed a right to the body, which injured Hernandez-Gerarldo halfway through. A clash of heads caused a small cut on Hernandez-Gerarldo’s left eyebrow.

In the fifth round, Aleem landed a combination and knocked Hernandez-Gerarldo backwards to the canvas for an 8 count from referee Raul Caiz, Jr.

Scored 100-89 by all three judges.
