Unbeaten heavyweight gurgen ‘Big Gug’ Hovhannisyan (9-0, 8 COs) scored three knockouts and Chris ‘Sandman’ Thomas (15-2-2, 10 COs) in three rounds for the WBA Continental North American title Friday night on the Caribe Royale Orlando in Orlando, Florida.
In the first round, Hovhannisyan landed a stitch and an upper hand on the chin, and Thomas went for an 8 score in the last minute of the round of referee Mossimo Montanini. In the first minute of the second round, Hovhannisyan landed a right on the chin, and again Thomas for an 8 scores by referee Montanini.
In the third round, after a minute, Hovhannisyan landed half a dozen bumps when Thomas fell on the canvas. Referee Montanini blew it off without a score.
In the co-function, Super Bantamweight Angel ‘AK-47’ Barrientes (14-1, 9 COs) came from behind to stop Jorge de Jesus Romero (23-2-1, 14 COs) at 0:30 of the tenth and final round for the vacant WBA Continental Super Bantamweight title.
In the first round, the larger Barrientes became the best of the Romero by counteracting him. In the second through the fourth rounds, Romero continued to come forward, put the pressure on Barrientes and surpassed him.
In the fifth round’s final seconds, Romero ended up a right to Ken of Barrientes. In the sixth round, Barrientes began to open and eliminate Romero. In the final seconds, Romero landed a solid left to the chin of Barrientes.
In the seventh round, Romero returned well enough to take a near round. In the eighth round, Barrientes returned well and landed five unanswered pushing halfway, knowing that the fight was going on.
In the ninth round, Romero came back well and surpassed Barrientes. In the tenth and last round, Barrientes went on the attack and drove Romero all over the ring and ended up over a dozen unanswered bumps until referee Young blew it off.
Drake Banks (10-0, 7 food) defeated ‘King’ Colby Madison (11-8-3, 7 COs) with an eight-round decision.
Halfway through the second round, Banks ended up a solid right on the chin and got the attention of Madison. With half a minute left, a left hook from Banks on the Ken Madison took a few steps back. In the third round, Madison landed a good right to Ken of Banks, which returned with its own right. Good round for Madison.
In the fourth round, Banks had for most of the round Madison against the ropes. Just within the last minute of the sixth round, Banks ended up a solid right on the chin and thrown Madison. In the seventh round, Madison kept going and looking for the distance while Banks chased him. In the eighth and last round, Banks tried to get another knockout when Madison was in survival mode and wanted to give up. Another round for banks.

Super Welterweight Alex Bray (10-0, 8 food) stopped the Lesther ‘El Negrito Explosivo’ Espino (9-7, 7 cost) at 1:42 of the first round of a scheduled eight rounds.
In the first round, a right of Bray on the Chin Bray hurt and was on his feet when Bray followed with a combination on the chin, and Down went Espino for an 8-tele of referee Alicia Collins halfway through the round. In the last minute, Bray landed a wave of push and forced referee Collins to stop.
The heavyweight Aleksei Dronov (7-0, 5 cost) Joel ‘Quiet Storm’ Caudle (9-9-2, 6 COs) knocked out of the fourth of a scheduled eight rounds at 2:48.
In the fourth round, Dronov Caudle battered, who forced referee Alicia Collins to stop.
Featherweight Chavez ‘The Beast’ Barrientes (12-0, 6 COs) stopped Southpaw Jesus Martinez (38-28-1, 16 COs) to three rounds of a scheduled eight rounds.
In the first three rounds, Barrientes had his way. In the fourth round, Barrientes dropped Martinez for an 8 scores, throwing the corner into the towel to stop the fight, while referee Michael dejesus blew it off.
Featherweight Roberto Rivera Gomez (7-0, 3 food) defeated Wilber ‘Wilber’ Soto (24-19, 13 COs) with a unanimous six-round decision.
In the second round, both boxers would go from Orthodox to Southpaw. Soto had problems with his right eye by Gomez. In the fourth round, Gomez Soto shakes with a left bean head on the chin.
In the fifth round, Gomez Soto hit low and twice behind the head, and then on the back, a knockout by referee Mossimo Montanini. In the sixth and final round, in the final seconds, Gomez Soto picked up and put him on the canvas without warning.
The scores were 60-53, 60-53 and 60-53.
