Boxing results: Fernando Martinez defeated Ioka in rematch, but broad scorecard draws social media

WBA Super Flyweight (115 pounds) champion Fernando Martinez (17-0, 9 costs) Marciano-esque Untreated club steps to defeat former four-division world champion Kazuto Ioka (31-4-1, 16 COs) with a unanimous 12 round decision in their re-broadcast last Saturday night at the OTA-City General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.

Some fans saw it as a sign of bias from Hoyle. However, he probably felt that Martinez’s uninterrupted aggressive, louder and more numerous shots in each round were the difference. It was difficult to ignore how Martinez always related to the bigger blows. Ioka focused too much on the fight with his weaker shots and did not go on the attack as he needed.

Ioka beat a tenth round and dropped Martinez with a left hook. However, the Argentine Martinez returned and Ika attacked with shots relentlessly after he was dropped. He continued to attack the Japanese star with a storm storm in rounds 11 and 12. Ioka showed up for that style and encouraged Fernando to fight him in the final round. It was strange. Martinez got the better of Kazuto at a short distance with his Rocky Marciano style Club bumps, but still he still wanted to brawl.

York’s future

It is useless to have a trilogy match between them, because Martinez has shown that his high-volume style will be too much for the outdated fighter Ioka. At 35, Ioka should consider retiring because he couldn’t beat the other champions, Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez and Phumelele Cafu, at 115.

Ioka can move to Bantam weight and try to rejuvenate his career. However, his lack of strength would be even more difficult for him in that weight class. To be successful against the stronger punchers, Ioka must attack more and that is not his style.
