Boxing results: Eric Priest defeats ‘Herc’ Tyler Howard


Unbeaten middleweight Eric Priest gave Tyler ‘Herc’ Howard Thursday night a boxing lesson by winning all ten rounds for the vacant WBA Continental North American title at the Commerce Casino in Commerce, California.

Priest, 15-0 (8) defeated ‘Herc’ Tyler Howard, 20-3 (11) over 10 rounds. In the first round of four rounds, the priest’s stitch counteracted the oncoming Howard. Priest drew from the nose of Howard in the last minute of the fourth round.

In the fifth through the tithe, Priest gave Howard a boxing lesson and used his stitch to perfection while Howard emerged, but could not get past the stinging of priest. The scores were 100-90, 100-90 and 100-90.

The referee was Ray Corona.

Super springweight South Poot Leonardo ‘Bazooka’ Sanchez, 8-0 (6), impressed by defeating Joseph ‘Jaguar’ Cruz, 10-12 (6) over six crooked rounds.

In the first four rounds, it was all Southpot Sanchez who had Cruz on defense with a wave of beats. In the fifth round, Sanchez drew blood from Cruz’s nose.

Referee Rudy Baragan. All the scores were 60-54.

The Super Wellweight Jordan ‘The Patriot’ Panthen, 11-0 (9) defeated Deaundre ‘Dixianimal’ Pettus, 12-4 (7) over 10 rounds.

In the first round, Panthen, the aggressor, did well, but sustained a cut to the hairline due to a head collision. In the second through the sixth round, Pettus returned well, counteracted Panthen, but not good enough to win the rounds. Both had moments in the eighth round, with Panthen working out a conflicting pettus.

The ninth and tenth rounds went back and forth, with Panthen sustaining a shaving wound to his left eye at the end.

The referee was Thomas Taylor. Scores 100-90, 98-92 and 97-93.

Super Welter Grant Flores, 8-0 (6), stopped David Lobo Ramirez, 17-4 (12) at 2:59 of the second round of a scheduled six rounds.

In the second round, in the final seconds, Flores Ramirez’s nose broke up, dropped him for an 8 score, causing referee Ivan Guillermo to blow it away.

The 18-year-old Super Light Cayden Griffiths, 3-0 (3), stopped Marc Misiura, 3-7-1 (3) at 1:43 of the second round of a scheduled four rounds.

In the second round, Griffiths got a wicked left side on the body and dropped Misiura, who rose at 9, but referee Rudy Baragan blew it off.

Bantamweight South Poot Jordan ‘Brazen Bull’ Fuentes, 3-0 (0) defeated Brandon ‘Uriel’ Badillo, 0-3-1 (0) over four rounds.

In the first two rounds, South Poot Fuentes counteracted the aggressive Badillo. In the third round, D Fuentes Badillo dropped a right hook on the chin in the last fifteen seconds for an 8 score of referee Ivan Guillermo.

All scores were 40-35, 40-35 and 40-35.
