At the Overtime Elite Arena, Atlanta, GA, Friday on DAZN in the main event, WBO #3 seed Elijah Pierce defeated Jose ‘El General’ Sanmartin for the vacant WBA Continental Americas Super Bantamweight title.
In the co-feature in the OTX C4 Super Welterweight Tournament, WBA Continental Americas Super Welterweight Champion Brandon ‘Cannon’ Adams defeated 2020 Olympian Francisco ‘Bebu’ Daniel Veron.
Elijah Pierce, 20-2 (6), defeated Jose ‘El General’ Sanmartin, 35-9-1 (21), for the vacant WBA Continental Americas Super Bantamweight title.
In the first two rounds, Pierce dominated Sanmartin, who walked into his counterattack with his hands up. In the third round, Sanmartin finally started landing punches, although not enough to win the round.
Pierce dropped Sanmartin with a low jab on the boundary in the fourth round and dominated the rest of the round. In the fifth round’s final seconds, Sanmartin landed a right, followed by a flurry of punches. From the sixth to the ninth, Pierce Sanmartin worked out. Both had moments in the tenth and final round, with Pierce taking the round and the fight.
The scores were twice 97-93 and 99-91.
In the co-feature, WBA Continental Americas Super Welterweight Champion Brandon ‘Cannon’ Adams, 24-3 (16), defeated 2020 Olympian Francisco ‘Bebu’ Veron, 14-1-1 (10) over ten rounds.
In the first two rounds, Veron beat Adams. In the third through sixth rounds, Adams had Veron pinned and hurt.
In the seventh round’s final seconds, Adams drove Veron into the ropes for an 8 count from referee Ansel Stewart. In the eighth round, Veron finally landed some rights, but it was short-lived as Adams hurt him and again held for the rest of the round.
In the ninth round, a right to the body from Adams in the first minute hurt Veron enough that he held on the rest of the way. In the tenth and final round, Adams made it clear that he had been the winner since the third round.
Scores 95-94, 98-91 and 96-93.
Super Welter Andreas ‘Katz’ Katzourakis, 14-0 (10), won a split decision over Robert ‘Tiger’ Terry, 12-1-1 (4) over 10 rounds.
In the first four rounds, Katzourakis continued to come forward and was countered by Terry. In the fifth through eighth rounds, Katzourakis began landing body shots as he caught up with the faster Terry.
In the ninth round, Katzouakis suffered a small cut on the outside of his left eyebrow despite taking the round. In the tenth and final round, it was the best round of the fight as Katzouakis held his own with blood coming from his mouth.

Super Feather Maliek ‘Mayhem’ Montgomery, 19-0 (17) stopped former two-time WBC Interim Feather Champion Oscar ‘El Guerrero’ Escandon, 27-8 (18) at 1:39 of the second round of a scheduled eight round stopped.
In the first round, Montgomery dominated Escandon, whose best shot came after the bell. In the second round, Montgomery’s left hook drew a lot of blood from Escandon’s nose halfway through, then dropped him with a combination for the count of referee Ansel Stewart.
Super Middle Donte Lane, 4-0 (4), scored his fourth first-round stoppage over Noah Kidd, 8-11-2 (5), at 1:52 of the first of a scheduled four rounds.
In the first round, at midpoint, Lane landed a right hook to the head and dropped Kidd for the count of referee Malik Walee.
Super featherweight Gustavo ‘El Dorado’ Rivera Rio, 10-1 (7), is coming off his first loss on the canvas and dominated with a knockout of his own, defeating Carlos Dos Santos Rocha 3-6 (2) over six rounds.
With half a minute left in the first round, Rocha landed a counter right on the chin and Rivera dropped Rio for an 8 count from referee Ansel Stewart. In the final minute of the second round, Rivera dropped Rio Rocha, whose nose was bleeding earlier, with a left to the midsection for an 8 count from referee Stewart.
In the third through fifth rounds, although he was hit too much with rights from Rocha, Rivera Rios pushed the action and took all the rounds.
In the sixth and final rounds, in the last minute, Rivera Rios, frustrated by Rocha pulling him in turn after turn since the second round, threw him to the canvas.
Scores were 58-54 x 3.
