Diego Pacheco (24-0, 18 COs), Super Middeeight, won a dull safety-first 12-round decision on Trevor McCumby (28-2, 21 COs) in the co-function Saturday night in the Ford Center in the Star in Frisco, Texas.

The scores were 120-108, 119-109 and 119-109.
#1 WBO mostly arranged Pacheco all night and chose to stay on the outside of the way and avoid the powerful shots McCumby tried to hit him with.
McCumby got a cut on his forehead of a clash of heads in round two. The sliced blood through the rest of the battle. With 21 seconds to go in the 12th, referee Lawrence Cole calls a time -out to investigate McCumby’s cut by the Ringside Doctor. He allowed the fight to continue. It was a strange time to examine the cut.
Pacheco’s safety first strategy
The crowd does not like Pacheco’s hit-and-not-stretched Jerry-Esque fighter style, and they let him know that by captivating the twelfth of the fourth round.
It was Pacheco who was not prepared to fight it, because McCumby tried to get to him, but he continued to return three to six feet when he was attacked. It has a striking agreement with the fighting style that benefited Shakur Stevenson, and it was just as boring as it gets.
It wasn’t the performance that Pacheco-marketed Pacheco needed to make a case for him to get a title against the undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez. It was like a William Scull battle for Diego.
Diego’s jab-heavy style
“I tried to find my distance to control the fight. All I was worried about was getting the w and preparing for the next one, ‘Pacheco said after the fight. “Definitely, he’s a strong fighter. He had big blows. I saw him trying to bait me.
“I stayed behind my stitch all day. Trevor is a wonderful fighter. That’s why I chose him to test me. We collided a few times. I felt that I was not in danger on the outside. That’s why I kept it there. I wanted to get Trevor on my resume.
“I know there are big fights in front of me. I want someone to want in the top -10. The fans in LA deserve a fight between me and someone from the top 10
