Boxing results: Deonte Brown defeats Dennis Contreras


Lightweight Deonte ‘Lay EM Down’ Brown easily defeated Dennis ‘Martillo’ Contreras with a unanimous eight round decision Friday at the Red Owl Boxing Arena in Houston, Texas.

After almost three years, Southpaw Brown, 16-0 (11), Contreras, 24-18-1 (22) came through an eight-round decision.

In the first two rounds, Brown used a good stitch as controlled, with hands held high in return. In the third round, Contreras constantly comes forward and browns brown in the bumps of the faster hands. In the fourth round, Brown’s right hook hit the canvas in the final seconds, but referee Joe Rodriguez calls it a slip.

In the third round, Donist returned well enough to take the round. In the fourth and final round, Flamm was cut on the right eyebrow from a right of Donis, which exceeded Flamm.

The scores were 38-37, 38-37 and 38-37.
