Light heavyweight Ben Whittaker (9-0-1, 6 COs) achieved a technical knockout of veteran Liam Cameron (23-7-1, 10 COs) at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, England.
Olympic silver medalist Whittaker in 2020 bumped Cameron with a loop to the right to the head in the second round. He then went to the manslaughter and threw wildly, threw shots with both hands that supported his hurt enemy against the ropes.

Premature end?
Ben has downloaded a heavy barrage of bumps while Cameron is covered behind the guard. Referee Howard Foster walks and blows it off, although premature. Cameron looked 100% fine because he blocked many of the wild bumps of whittaker. Referee Foster made a tactical mistake by blowing it off, but it’s the same referee who stopped the first Carl Froch against George Groves in 2013.
Whittaker mostly slapped in front of the downtime. Sometimes he threw a right hand, but from his energy he was on throwing weak stitch and used his left hand as an illegal straight arm to prevent Cameron from coming close. Foster never warned Whittaker about the illegal tactics, and he must have it because it was his primary defense strategy to keep Liam close.
In the first round, Cameron Whittaker follows, looks tense and doesn’t let his hands go. Near the end of the round, he marked Whittaker with a large right hand who caught him. Ben ran after eating the shot. Moments later, Whittaker Cameron grabs in a clinic to prevent him from continuing his assault.
Out of frustration, he nailed Whittaker with a rabbit punch to let him go. The referee immediately stopped the action and gave Cameron a strict warning. It was the first rabbit punch he threw in battle. It should not have been such a big deal, but Foster plays strictly with the B-his fighter.
