Brandon ‘Cannon’ Adams lost a split decision in a war against undefeated Andreas Katzourakis on Friday night at the Corey Studios at Corey Towers, Atlanta, Georgia.
In the co-feature, Olympian Oshae ‘Suga’ Jones was upset by a split decision over champion Femke ‘Thunder’ Hermans for her IBF and WBO Super Welterweight titles.
WBA Continental Americas Super Welterweight Champion Adams (25-4, 16 KOs) lost a 10-round split decision to Katzourakis (15-0, 10 KOs).
In the first round it was all action with infighting. Katzourakis suffered a cut over his left eye. In the second round, Katzourakis landed a very low blow and dropped Adams. Referee Thomas Taylor gave him time to recover. The action continued with Adams getting up. In the third and fourth rounds, Katzourakis continued to have Adams against the ropes for the most part.
In the fifth round, the non-stop hitting from both continued. In the final seconds, referee Taylor warned Katzourakis for landing low punches. In the sixth and seventh rounds, the war continued, going back and forth between who had the advantage.
In the eighth and ninth rounds, the fight was mostly fought in the center of the ring, with Adams having an edge. In the tenth and final round, the all-action battle continued until the bell.

Two-division champion and current IBF World and WBO Super Welterweight Champion Femke ‘Thunder’ Hermans (18-5, 7 KOs) lost a 10-round split decision and her title to 2020 Olympic Bronze Medalist southpaw Oshae ‘Suga’ Jones ( 8- 0, 3 KOs).
In the first round both had their moment in a close round. In the second round, Jones rocked Hermans with a left to the chin and nearly dropped her at the bell. In the action-packed third round, a clash of heads caused some swelling in Jones’ right eye area.
In the fourth round, Jones again had Hermans in trouble and landed a right to the chin. Hermans landed a solid right on Jones’ chin in the middle of the fifth round. By switching to southpaw throughout, Hermans hit the clock hard.
Hermans had her best rounds in the sixth and seventh rounds. In the eighth round, Jones came back well and outworked Hermans.
Both had moments in the ninth round, with Jones taking the round. In the tenth and final round, Jones may have duked it out in a close, action-packed fight.

Lightweight Maliek ‘Mayhem’ Montgomery (20-0, 18 KOs) knocked out Sakaria ‘Desert Storm’ Lukas (26-3-1, 18 KOs) at 1:40 of the fourth round of a scheduled ten-rounder.
In the first round, Montgomery had Lukas covered at the end of the bell. In the second with half a minute left, a flurry of punches from Montgomery dropped Lukas for an 8 count from referee Nate Mann.
In the third round, Montgomery continued his dominance of Lukas. In the fourth round, at the halfway mark, southpaw Montgomery landed a vicious left uppercut to the body, which dropped Lukas for the count from referee Mann.
Welterweight southpaw David ‘Dynamite’ Lopez (7-0, 5 KOs) stopped Marlin ‘So Icey’ Sims (8-4, 4 KOs) at the end of the first round of a scheduled six rounder.
In the first round, with thirty seconds left, Lopez landed a left hook to the chin and knocked Sims to the canvas for an 8 count from referee Malik Waleed. Lopez jumped on him and landed a flurry as the round ended. Sims corner called a halt. Lopez had a little blood from his nose at the end.
Super middleweight ‘The Brickbuster’ Nathan Lugo (3-0, 3 KOs) stopped Mardoche Ilunga (1-1-1, 1 KO) at 0:44 of the fourth and final round.
In the first round, Lugo chased Ilunga. In the second and third rounds, Lugo continued to beat the defending Ilunga.
In the fourth and final round, Lugo continued where he left off when Ilunga’s corner called for referee Thomas Taylor to call a halt.
Lightweight Jonny ‘Magic’ Mansour (3-0, 1 KO) easily defeated Luciano Ramos (2-8) over four rounds.
In the first two rounds, Mansour won the rounds easily over the wild-swinging Ramos, who keeps his gloves up as his defense. In the third round, Mansour landed a three-punch combination that ended midway with a right uppercut to Ramos’ chin. In the fourth and final round, Mansour continued a takedown, landing easily on Ramos, just looking for the distance. The scores were 40-36, 40-36 and 40-36.
