WBA featherweight Nick Ball (23-0-1, 13 COs) was forced to fight hard to win a unanimous 12-round decision over technically superior Sam Goodman (20-1, 8 COs) in an entertaining rear-again competition Saturday night in the main support fight in the ANB Arenyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Ball was exhausted in the championships of shots and the ongoing attacks of younger fighter, Goodman. In the twelfth round, Goodman landed a lightning-fast combination of four punch that cut ball over his left eye. The bumps were thrown so quickly that the ball could not respond, and his head goes with the push every time.
The scores were 117-111, 118-110 (WTF?), And 115-113
Goodman put his feet in the last three rounds and knocked out ball with excellent force on his shots. If Sam had fought so much earlier in the fight, he would have improved his chances of winning.
In fact, the battle must have won, because Goodman has a stop in the fight, and easily earned to win six of the twelve rounds. The judges love the work that Ball did on the inside, while ignoring the Jabs, right hands and body shots that Goodman hit with him all night.
Goodman, 26, showed so many facets to his game, box, sluggish and picturesque left brackets at the ball of the ball. It was the first time in Ball’s game that he was out of the box and the way he did by a fighter who was over his head seemed in the real ability.
A rematch would make sense between these two fighters because it deserves one to how carefully it has disputed.
