David Adelye (14-1, 13 CO’s) has the referee who has the defenseless Jeamie Tshikeva (18-2, 5 COs) set with a beautiful left hook to set the table to score a sixth round to win the vacant British heavyweight title on Saturday night at the Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester, England.
The “breaking” punch
Referee Ronald Kearney calls a clear interruption, screams it and grabs Tshikeva’s right arm to pull him away. Adelye either did not hear the referee “breaking” at the top of his lungs, or he did not want to pass the opportunity for a free shot, and he brought the unconscious Tshikeva to the head with a left hook he never saw. Tshikeva, 31, dropped as a 50 caliber gun shot him.
Interestingly, the referee chose to give Tshikeva time to recover from the cheap shot of nobility and just let the action continue. Given how bad
Tshikeva was injured; There was no way he could recover from the knockout. Adelye then dropped him a second time with a short barrage. This time, Kearney made the right decision and stopped the battle in sixth place at 0:55.
This battle is likely to be revised and can be decided as a non-cash.
Fair or dirty?
