Bantam weight ‘Gucci’ Manny Flores knocked out Jorge ‘Zurdo’ Leyva in four rounds on Thursday night at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California.
Flores, 20-1 (16), knocked out Southpaw Leyva, 18-4 (13) at 0:55 of the fourth round of a scheduled 10 rounds.
In the first round, it was close to a little over a minute when Flores landed a right cross on Leyva’s chin and took him back a few steps. In the second round, Flores landed a 3-punch combination that controls the round over Leyva. In the third round, Flores left a little over forty seconds, a straight left on the chin, and dropped Leyva for an 8 score of referee Ray Corona.
In the fourth rounds of first minute, a flores lead to the body Leyva dropped his knees for the Count of referee Corona.
In the co-function in a very impressive performance, Super Weltereight Grant Flores, 9-0 (7), Laquan ‘Cue’ Evans, 5-4 (2) stopped at 1:18 of the second round of a scheduled six rounds.
In the first round it was giving and taking, as both fighters had their moments. In the second round, Flores came out to end it and land twelve unanswered bumps before referee Ray Armendariz entered to stop it while Evans was on his feet.
Heavyweight Federico Pacheco, Jr., 8-0 (6), knocked out Arnulfo Cazares, 2-5 (2) at 1:46 of the fourth and final round.
In the first round, which gave up more than 80 pounds to Pacheco, Cazares, who was inactive for two years, is more than 50 pounds lower than his last fight. Cazares have moved its head enough to avoid most of the bumps Cazares and eventually end up one of his own in the final seconds. In the second round, Cazares slipped to the canvas and, while underneath, was hit twice by Pacheco without a warning from referee Ray Corona.
In the third minute of third place, Pacheco landed well and had Cazares against the ropes, when Cazares landed a solid left hook on the chin, but counteracted by a Pacheco judge. In the fourth and final round, Pacheco landed ten unanswered blows, which forced referee Corona to stop as the towel entered from the corner of Cazares.
Lightweight Johnny Canas, 7-0 (2), defeated Jesus ‘diamonds’ Perez, 14-20-1 (8) with a unanimous six-round decision, with numerous low strokes.
After winning a close first round by Canas at the center of the second round, Perez cane with a right on the chin. In the third round center, Canas dropped Perez with a low right and received a warning from referee Ray Armendariz. Before the round was over, Canas was warned twice more.
In the fourth round, a left hand of Canas became low with another warning. What is the referee waiting for without taking a point of Canas? In the last minute is a casual right -drop of perez. In the fifth round, with a minute left, Canas landed some rights on the chin of Perez. In the final seconds, Perez landed a left hook to the chin of Canas. In the sixth and final rounds, the final seconds, Canas Perez shocked the chin right to the chin. Canas was lucky not to lose by DQ.
The scores were 60-54, 60-54 and 60-54.
Welterweight Olympic Ruslan Abdullaev, 1-0 (1), stopped Jose Alvarado, 3-19-2 (2) 2:33 of the second round of a scheduled four rounds. It was the first time Alvarado had been stopped.
In the first round, Abdullaev landed good body shots that took the round. In the second round with forty seconds, Abdullaev counteracted a right manure of Alvarado and landed an evil left to the body that dropped Alvarado that spit his mouthpiece on his knees for the Earl of referee Cameron Frizzell.
