Bowden Francis reveals his goal for the 2025 season

The Toronto Blue Jays finished the 2024 season 74-88, which put them in last place in the American League East and out of the playoffs for the first time since 2021.

Although the Blue Jays have made the playoffs three times in the last five seasons, all three postseason appearances ended with them being eliminated in the wild-card round.

A lackluster season so far doesn’t give the Blue Jays much hope of contending for a division title in 2025, but one of their starters has some big goals for next season.

Blue Jays starting pitcher Bowden Francis has revealed what he hopes to accomplish in 2025.

“Throw innings, that’s my biggest goal, show them I can throw 180 innings,” Francis said via MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM.

Francis entered the league in 2022 with the Blue Jays and played all three seasons of his MLB career with the team.

After not starting a game in 2022 and 2023, Francis started 13 games in 2024, and he revealed that his goal for 2025 is to throw 180 innings a season.

In 2024, Francis appeared in 27 games and posted an 8-5 record with a 3.30 ERA and 92 strikeouts in 103.2 innings.

While Francis only threw 0.2 innings in 2022, 36.1 innings in 2023 and 103.2 innings in 2024, he figures to hit the 180 mark in 2025 and show the team just how durable he is. is.

The Blue Jays could benefit from Francis eating some innings in 2025 as they try to return the team to the playoffs and win their first division title since 2015.
