Bournemouth vs Tottenham: Preview, Predictions and Lineups

Tottenham Hotspur will make the trip to the Vitality Stadium to lock horns with Bournemouth in the Premier League on Thursday evening.

A midweek round of top-flight English action offers Spurs the chance to return to winning ways after back-to-back draws at home. Their 4-0 drubbing of reigning champions Manchester City was followed by intense encounters with Roma and Fulham at home.

This was a game in which Tottenham triumphed twice last season, with a 2-0 win at the Vitality thanks to goals from James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski. However, Spurs know they are wary of the south coast side, with Man City and Arsenal having already lost to the Cherries this term.

Bournemouth’s 4-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers ended a two-game losing streak. Justin Kluivert became the first player Premier League history to score a hat-trick of penalties – Evanilson also became the first player to win three in a single game – with Bournemouth as a result.

here it is 90 minutes guide to Bournemouth vs Tottenham.

Andoni Iraola is unlikely to name a line-up too different from the team that beat Wolves at the weekend, although there may be some alterations as the games progress into December.

The good news for the Spanish manager is that Lewis Cook could be available after missing the weekend win with a muscle problem. However, in less positive news, the Cherries are still without long-term absentees Julian Araujo, Alex Scott and Luis Sinisterra.

Antoine Semenyo will return to the squad after missing the Wolves clash through suspension. He picked up his fifth yellow card of the season against Brighton & Hove Albion and Kluivert, Cook and Marcos Senesi are all on one-match bans.

Predicted line-up Bournemouth v Tottenham (4-2-3-1): Kepa; Smith, Zabarnyi, Senesi, Kerkez; Adams, Cook; Semenyo, Kluivert, Tavernier; Evanilson.

Spurs have a number of absentees ahead of the trip to Bournemouth. Guglielmo Vicario is off after that undergoing ankle surgery and Micky van de Ven remains sidelined with a hamstring problem, but World Cup winner Cristian Romero is closing in on a return although Thursday’s game may come too soon.

Rodrigo Bentancur is still suspended, while Richarlison, Mikey Moore and Wilson Odobert are unavailable in the forward line. Archie Gray picked up a knock against Fulham and will need to be assessed before kick-off.

Dominic Solanke made the lucrative move from Bournemouth to Spurs in the summer but is a doubt to return to the Vitality on Thursday. The forward missed the draw with Fulham through illness and could be sent off again after a tight switch.

Tottenham predicted line-up against Bournemouth (4-3-3): Forster; Porro, Dragusin, Davies, Udogie; Kulusevski, Bissouma, Sarr; Johnson, Solanke, Son.

Bournemouth have shown their ability to upset the odds this season, especially at home. The visit of an injured and inconsistent Spurs side is unlikely to trouble the Cherries or Iraola.

Bournemouth’s intensity and high-octane approach could take advantage of a Spurs side without their first-choice centre-back pairing and that there is an extremely high line. Evanilson’s runs from behind could cause problems for a Tottenham defense that doesn’t keep a lot of clean sheets.

Of course, Ange Postecoglou’s side have plenty of attacking options, but they have traditionally fallen short in these games. Thursday’s affair will be tight, but the Cherries can pull off another impressive win.

Prediction: Bournemouth 2-1 Tottenham
