Some rivalries don’t end on the field.
Jessica Pegula has proven he can beat the best in the world.
That didn’t stop the 2014 Wimbledon finalist Genie Bouchard from Pegula’s shot after the American lost to Arina Sabalenka7-5, 7-5 in the US Open final on Saturday.
Pegula fell world no. 1 Iga Swiatek and Roland Garros runners-up Karolina Muchova en route to her first major final in New York, snapping a six-game losing streak in the Slam quarterfinals.
When a fan on Twitter asked why Pegula, whose parents own the NFL’s Buffalo Bills and the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres, was getting “hate” on social media, Bouchard pulled no punches.
