Serhii Bohachuk (25-2, 24 COs) returned this Saturday, May 17, with the lead of the Hollywood Fight Nights Triple-Heer at Commerce Casino in Los Angeles. The loud striking Ukrainian takes 6’4 ”veteran Mykal Fox (25-4, 5 food) in a WBC Super Welterweight Eliminator, which streams directly on the UFC Fight Pass (22:00 Et / 19:00 pt / 3:00 AM UK).
Also on the map: Featherweight Omar Trinidad against Alexander Espinoza, and Mizuki Hiruta defends her WBA Super Flyweight Belt against Carla Merino.
From Vegas’s KnockDowns back to LA
Bohachuk walked in this one in August against a war with Vergil Ortiz Jr., where he dropped Ortiz twice, but still touched the cards. He followed this up by Fakkeling Ishmael Davis in Riyadh and deciding Brian Mendoza in Vegas. The man ruined names, minus Ortiz – and he still has 24 coes in 25 wins.
Fox? He is tall, clumsy and last he fought for relevance at one time or another in 2022. He has skills, a father-coach preference and a serious height benefit-but not much power. You need more than JABs and good intentions if you are with a wreckage like Bohachuk.
This battle does not happen because Fox is a threat. This happens because Bohachuk needs a warm -up before a world title.
Is Fox just another ko on the ledger?
Look – Fox is smooth, defensive and uncomfortable. But you can only run for so long before a man like Bohachuk walks through you. If Fox can survive and frustrate the Ukrainian. But if he gets greedy, he’ll stare at the ceiling. Bohachuk doesn’t like to box. He likes to kill the rhythm and crush your ribs.
If Bohachuk wins – and let’s be real, he should probably be next for a world title. This one is about making statements. Another knockout, another body, and the WBC can no longer avoid him.
If Fox upsets the screenplay somehow? Welcome back to the purgatory for Boxing for Bohachuk.
