Brian Norman Jr. Bob Arum’s promoter says he looks forward to working with Turki Alalshikh for Brian’s defense of his WBO swelling title against the “Track Star Devin Haney” in November.
Arum knows what Norman Jr. (28-0, 22 CO’s) in this battle will come up, and he gets a little digging ahead of time. What music would be to his ears is if Turki announced that the ring will be 18 x 18 feet, which will have to limit the amount of space that Haney (32-0, 15 COs) will have to limit.
Haney’s label “Track Star” explained
Many boxing fans complained about the movement Devin used in his last fight on May 2 against Jose Ramirez on Times Square in New York. Haney took all the entertainment out of the fight with what people consider “running”. After that, there was a major setback by fans, who criticized the entire map with a broad brush for Devin’s actions. Before the fight, Haney was not a big vehicle during his career. He was the type that would work with his opponents.
One theory to explain why Devin was on the flight last May is the beat he sustained in his loss against Ryan Garcia last year. He was dropped by Ryan three times in that fight and was injured other times. It may have taken the bravery out of him and transformed him into the curvy, wrinkling fighter we saw on Times Square.
Turki yesterday the Norman Jr. announced against Haney match for November in Riyadh. The bottom map and PPV price have yet to be revealed. The card is expected to be loaded with excellent battles.
Alalshikh praised Haney on X yesterday for his willingness to fight someone. However, it was more a case that Devin had limited options for a major payday after missing a few fights that would have paid millions. Then the Brian Norman Jr. -Again offered to Haney, he did not intend to reject it, because he had to wait a long time before anything else fell into his lap.
