Bettinardi is releasing his third collaboration with Buffalo Trace Distillery brands, rooted in a shared respect for American craftsmanship, patience in the process and attention to detail.
The third installment of the collaboration celebrates the heritage of WL Weller wheat bourbon. I personally don’t drink much, but if I do, it’s to drink a nice bourbon or whiskey while hanging out with close friends. When we’re feeling particularly fancy, Weller is the choice. I don’t usually get upset about limited edition releases, but this one really appealed to me as a memory of memories with close friends around campfires and nights that lasted too long but that I would never trade.

It’s no secret that the folks at Bettinardi go above and beyond for their HIVE releases, and this is certainly no exception. The idea with publications like this one from Bettinardi is to draw parallels between the two collaborators. Weller uses wheat instead of rye as a flavoring grain, which gives the drink a much smoother and smoother profile, similar to the single-piece milled philosophy at Bettinardi that creates a nice smooth, smooth feel from the release of the collaboration.
“This collaboration with WL Weller continues a relationship we greatly value with the Buffalo Trace Distillery team,” said Sam Bettinardi, President of Bettinardi Golf. “Weller’s history and approach to craftsmanship reflects the way we think about product design – taking the time to do things the right way.”

I love that this version looks so simple. Bettinardi didn’t overdo it with graphics or crazy solo work. It looks like a simple design inspiration of the Queen Bee #6, with the classic Weller branding text on the sole and the very cool grind pattern that uses the Weller ‘W’ as a pattern. It’s filled with a soft and subtle bronze/gold finish with red accents that remind you of opening a brand new bottle of Weller to enjoy with friends.
Each barrel features custom design elements influenced by WL Weller’s bourbon heritage, with finishes and details intended to reflect the warmth, depth and character associated with the brand. The collaboration extends beyond betting with a full range of coordinating accessories, including a ball marker, splitter tool and various headgear.
